Jake, a single dad trying to keep it together meets his match in Bailey, the the honest, call you on your sh*t kindergarten teacher. As they navigate their developing attraction they end up catching some feelings along the way.
The cover drew me in immediately and the blurb had me hooked. The chemistry between Jake and Bailey is pretty electrifying and develops organically. Kudos to Melissa for writing this complex family dynamic with so much respect and gentleness. Let's also not forget about the steamy scenes in this book. These scenes were so hot that I thought my e-reader was going to short circuit. I only have one regret with this book and that is that I waited this long to read it.
Bailey Thorne is a kindergarten teacher at Obama Elementary, a school that includes pre-school classes. In the two years that Jayden has been in the pre-school program, Bailey has watched his father, Jake the Rake, date his way through her colleagues. The story is Jake is all romance one night a week for six months and then he ends the relationship. Bailey has no patience for rakes and as Jake’s son enters her class she has no plans to get friendly with him. A reluctant attraction, forced propinquity, and an adorable child with no sense of boundaries combine to spark a romance between Bailey and Jake.
Jake is very protective of Jayden, in part because of what he will have to tell him about his mother. He wants to keep his romances separate from his son, but that’s impossible with Bailey.
There’s texting, dates, little league games, late night house calls, brothers, a misunderstanding, some grovelling, and a lot of steamy sex.
Single dad bless his heart..sorta😏 He make a plan for him and his son that worked until Bailey walked into his life
Short and wonderful. Love will do that.❤️❤️
