Poor quality control, not as advertised.
on November 22, 2014
The light arrived D.O.A. I isolated the problem to the tailcap switch which was near falling apart loose. I took the tailcap apart and all the pieces were there and functional. Reassembled more tightly and the light worked.
The light is advertised as "5 Function" but has just 3 functions: high, low, and flash. No S.O.S. or 3rd brightness level. This was tested visually by myself and a handy 15 year old. I verified the observations by measuring current draw. (approx. 700ma, 150ma, 350ma in high, low, and flash; with the battery at 3.9v. Edit: Approx 910ma, 190ma, 455ma with fully charged battery.)
The light is noticeably brighter than an older but little used 3D LED Maglight. However it is not near as effective lighting a dark room as a light bulb rated at 250 lumens. The quality seems okay, as does the finish, but nothing special. (It does not feel near as nice as the Maglight.)
Charger also seems of reasonable quality (and is working).
-2 stars for D.O.A. (I could easily and seamlessly fix it otherwise this would kill the deal)
-2 stars for false advertising (if I cared about the modes this would kill the deal)
Leaves it with 1 star.
Worth what I paid, but I am sure glad I did not pay full price.
