This comfortable mesh dog muzzle features a unique snap strap that allows well-behaved pets to eat and drink with the muzzle on, giving dogs the ability to eat, drink and breathe easily while restricting unwanted behavior. Muzzle slips on quickly, snaps closed and has an adjustable, woven nylon strap. Tough, washable cordura nylon resists tears and punctures, yet feels comfortable to the dog. Be sure to select the correct size of muzzle by measuring the dogs snout. Show the muzzle to the dog, allowing him/her to sniff the muzzle. Lure the dog into the muzzle by placing a treat in front of the open snap strap so he/she can take the treat without removing the muzzle. Pull the snaps behind the head to fasten the buckle and adjust the snaps for a snug fit. To release, simply squeeze the locking snap buckle and remove the muzzle. Comes in medium size and it is fits for fox terriers, beagles, lhasa apsos, keeshonds, whippets, westies, jack russells, standard poodles breeds. Available in red color. Made of cordura nylon material. Measures 9-1/2-inch length.

For the price, I would recommend this muzzle to anyone to use as an alternative to an E-collar, however it is important to note the following:
-With the "nose-strip" buttoned across the nose, air-flow is somewhat more restricted than I would like, so I leave it open: problem solved.
-My dog can NOT drink or take treats with this muzzle on.
-My dog CAN get the muzzle off with his paws (he can also remove E-collars). The single strap around the neck is not the most secure, but I think it might also have to do with the shape of my Doberman's streamlined snout/head. However, I think any seriously determined dog would be able to wriggle out of this muzzle without issue.
**This muzzle would definitely not be appropriate to wear for extended periods of time (dog can not access water), while unsupervised (dog can get it off), or outside in the heat (ventilation is not adequate for labored breathing), but I think this is a GREAT alternative to an E-collar to prevent licking/chewing legs/wounds/surgical sites and could be alright for occasional use (trips to vet, during grooming/nail trimming, in an emergency, etc.)
I also use this muzzle on my boxer female to keep her from licking her bitch britches when she is in season. It works, and the lack of a center strap down the forehead doesn't seem to be an issue as neither of them have been able to get it off. It seems to be holding up really good and comes clean with ease.
So from the tip of the nose to the end of the top piece of cloth I only had 3 inches.

This is not enough cloth to cover the whole snout as the picture and recommendations had me believe.
