When I first rolled this 30' lead out, it looked shorter than I expected. I took my hardheaded dog out to do some recall training. He made a run for the neighbor's farm and ignored me. The 63 pound dog, running full speed, hit the end of the lead that was wrapped around my hand. I ended up face down on the lawn but my dog was still attached to me. This very tough lead did exactly what it was supposed to do. After we finished the training session, I measured the lead. It is 30' 6". I think it may have gained a few inches when stressed. That's okay. I think my arm might be a bit longer too.

AWESOME training lead for recall or to exercise a puppy that has not completed vaccinations. I initially bought a black 30 foot guardian gear lead to let my puppy run back and forth in my unfenced yard safely before she had completed her vaccination series and could go to the dog park. I quickly learned it would be useful for recall in the dog park when she stranded me there for an hour one day by playing keep away from me haha. I now have this lead attached at all times in the dog park and she has dragged it through mud, rocks, brush--you name it--and it gets FILTHY but washes up well. After months of abuse this lead only shows minimal wear. I just ordered a second lead for my new rescue!

I got this for my unfenced yard, so my dog could hang out with me outside, and also for camping, so he could roam around the campsite safely. I've had it for almost two years according to Amazon! I keep it tied to a tree in my yard when we're not camping, and this past winter snuck up on me, and a snowstorm froze it to the ground from November through this past weekend. Also this past weekend, I got a second dog, so wanted another one of these. I was browsing Amazon, looking at the cheapest option, when I realized that this one has not only survived two years of abuse, but also survived an entire winter under the snow - and is still in great shape! That made the choice pretty darn easy - I'll stick with this one, it is the best choice!!

great for training and walks in the country

While many people use flexi or other retractable leads, I rather use a long line like this... nowhere near as dangerous, and it's loads easier to hold on to (no chunky handle... my hand is too small to hold onto the huge flexi lead handle, and even with this lead all bundled up, it's smaller than that)... not to mention if you drop it, the dog won't run all the way to the north pole in fear. Plus, it makes no annoying clicks or whirls (and you have no worry of having to amputate either your leg or your dog's leg if it gets tangled up in either).

I like using this as a drag line out in the park so my dog can have freedom and I can have an easy way of collecting her if she doesn't respond to a recall. It's very soft in my hands, and I have knots all through it at certain lengths so I can step on it and stop my dog, without having the leash slide under my shoe.

Also, for long walks in the country, I put a harness on my dog and hook this up to her... she's able to go ahead of me a bit or stop and sniff the flowers while I keep going. Unlike a flexi lead, she doesn't need to be constantly pulling me, so that's not an issue.

One thing I really like about this long line is that it is easy to untangle, but once you put a knot in it then that knot's going to be there forever. Something that I'm a little disappointed about in this leash is that if you let it drag on the road AT ALL, there's a little bit of wear on it, especially where knots are... so I'd suggest not letting it drop to the ground if you're walking on the road. In the grass is fine, but not on the road.

This leash is great because YOU get to decide the length. While I love the retractable leashes, it is not a good idea when you are first training a dog because with those, there will be/and should be constant tension which encourages pulling. I also like this leash because you can decide the length you want to have the dog on while in the house during potty training. I usually tie it around my waist or through my belt loop. Potty training has been so much easier using this technique. It's also great if you want to tie the dog up (while supervised) in the backyard while you do yard work hang out etc.. Especially if the backyard isn't fenced in to your standard. Past the puppy stage, I use this leash for training such as here/come and heel etc. Overall you can't go wrong with this leash. We own Westies so to answer someone's question, no it's not a think heavy leash. The clasp is solid though so if you, say...hit yourself in the head with it...it will hurt lol.

This training lead arrived just in the nick of time. I needed something that I could use while training my rambunctious puppy. I wanted something safe and strong for him to run around while still supervised, and I also wanted something strong to attach to his harness while we work on training. The leash arrived on time and in great condition, so we used it right away. So far so good. The clip seems well attached. His needle teeth haven't made a dent in the webbing as yet. It is early days, but I am very happy with this purchase so far, and my puppy is safe. The only thing I have to work out is how to hold onto 30 feet of training lead without tripping over the excess, but that is not an issue with the product.

Great price for a 50' long line. I use it going to the park so my dog can get his zoomies out without breaking leash laws or risking him running away after a squirrel. It's a bit difficult keeping all the lead organized when carrying it and mine gets knotted occasionally, but I keep a cord organizer with me to wrap around the slack when not in use. NOTE: not a heavy duty lead. The material is sort of flimsy so if you have a big doggo, I recommend a different lead. My dog is 40 lbs and it works great but I wouldn't use it on a larger dog. Also, because it's a thinner material, I've gotten multiple rope burns when it's slipped through my hands. I probably wouldn't buy it again but it was so cheap that I don't regret the purchase.

I have a great dog that loves to play ball of the lead but when its time to go home she knows and won't come near to put lead back on, so i had to keep a normal 8 metre lead on her so ball play was not as much fun for her or me, but now with this lead she can play ball , have a great run and i can get her home when i want her too, having used this for over a week i now don't hold the lead but still easy to grab at home time. best thing i have bought for my dog.
