Jack Sigler, Callsign: King, has been a lot of things in his life. A soldier, a father, a hero. But now he’s taking up a new title: guardian.
After a life fighting billionaire madmen, terrorists and unnatural threats, he’s stuck thousands of years in the past, using his knowledge of history and modern warfare to right wrongs and stand up for those in need.
When he meets a twelve year old boy—the prince of the Babylonian Empire—who is to be sacrificed to the ancient goddess, Tiamat, by a twisted High Priest, King steps in, sword swinging. But what starts as a simple snatch and grab, quickly turns into a pitched battle against a legion of men and hideous creatures. As Tiamat rises from her ancient resting place, the fate of the world—and King’s future—is at stake.
Praise for Robinson
“Rocket-boosted action, brilliant speculation, and the recreation of a horror out of the mythologic past, all seamlessly blend into a rollercoaster ride of suspense and adventure.”
—James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of The Eye of God
“With Threshold Jeremy Robinson goes pedal to the metal into very dark territory. Fast-paced, action-packed and wonderfully creepy! Highly recommended!”
—Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Rot & Ruin
“Jeremy Robinson is the next James Rollins”
—Chris Kuzneski, New York Times bestselling author of The Einstein Pursuit
Praise for Holloway:
“Not since Preston & Child’s Agent Pendergast has there been a more mysterious, charming and fun to read sleuth as Ezekiel Crane. His mixture of southern charm, dark history and scientific know-how is intoxicating.”
—Jeremy Robinson, bestselling author of Island 731 and Omega
“Holloway skillfully weaves a back-woods tapestry of Sherlock Holmes with TV’s Supernatural and Justified into a thrilling Appalachian story of magic and mayhem. The Dirge amps up the action, menace, and mojo, for a spookfest of epic proportions, with a layered mystery and surprises at every turn. Join Ezekiel Crane, and bring your ten-demon bag for another Dark Hollows adventure. This series somehow got even better.”
—Kane Gilmour, bestselling author of Ragnarok and The Crypt of Dracula
“Siren’s Song hits all the right notes. A page-turning plot, heart-stopping battles above and below the waves, cutting-edge technology and weaponry—and of course, more double-crossing villains than you can shake a spear-gun at. Holloway’s a skilled conductor, and Siren’s Song a thrilling symphony.”
—David Sakmyster, author of The Pharos Objective

I've been greatly anticipating the return of King and the start of the Continuum series and I have not been disappointed!
Spoilers ahead, so if you don't want to read the review until you've read the book, you now have ten seconds to stop reading. Everyone else, you can enjoy Jetemy Robinson infommercial =D

Read Robinson's book Omega, as it sets all of this up. It's not necessary, but it certainly helps.

Even though Guardian and all following books are stand alone, it also wouldn't hurt to read:
8...
Prime, Pulse, Instinct and Threshold
7...
Then the CALLSIGN books - King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight and King 2 (they're novellas, but don't let their size minimise their importance to the lead up.
6...
Further CALLSIGN books - Deep Blue and King 3
5...
Ragnorak is next.
4...
Then, next, is Omega
3...
Like I said, not vital to read these, but it helps...

Okay. You've been adequately warned.
In the first adventure since Alexander/Hercules left King stranded in the ancient past during Omega, King has been living (and dying) in history for 200 years and is self-charged with the rescue and guardianship of Belshazzar, a young acolyte and descendant of Marduk who has been captured by Sereb-Meloch, a corrupt high priest who has the might of the Girtabliblu to command and use.
With the assistance of an important historical figure, who instantly garners King's trust, the race to save ancient Earth from the corrupt Sereb-Meloch and his goddess Tiamat commences - without the aide of 21st century weapons and intelligence that King has grown accustomed to.
Guardian is jam-packed with adventure, the supernatural and the heart stopping moments that are synonymous with novels penned by Jeremy Robinson.
No disappointments between these covers ;)
The action starts with a high priest from Babylonia moving through the desert to a mountain top to release two creatures. He has kidnapped the grandson of Nebuchadnezzar and intends to offer the boy as a sacrifice to the creatures. King, using an alias, has infiltrated the mercenary army that the high priest has gather. He is going to rescue the boy. King finds out there is more going on than expected. With the boy’s help and an unexpected help of a very famous historical figure, King fights to save the human race.
The story pulls one in with each turn of the page. Ancient myths are brought to life. And through it all, King is still King. The hero of mankind. This is a short story I recommended for those who love Jeremy Robinson’s books. I would also recommend it for any who enjoy action/adventure, myths, and ancient cultures. If you haven’t read any of Jeremy Robinson’s book, this is a great one to start with. Another edition to this series is planned for later this year, so read this one now to be prepared.
Considering this is not a Chess team book, I expected myself to be not as impressed or excited as I was for the Chess team books. But boy, was I wrong.
King is back in time, and now is trying to save the life of a Babylonian prince from the goddess Tiamat.
He might be in the past, but he is still a good soldier and a good man. And he will do what it takes to do the right thing.
MAYBE WE WILL LEARN SOME OF THE MYSTERIES AND SECRETS HERCULES HIDES IN FUTURE BOOKS.
GOING BACK IN TIME TO SAVE A PRINCE, FACE EVIL ENEMIES, ADD CREEPY, DANGEROUS, EXCELLENTLY CRAFTED CREATURES, MONSTERS, DEMONS, BIBLICAL REFERENCES . . . WHATEVER YOU WISH TO CALL THEM, MAKES "GUARDIAN" A FINE READ.
I BELIEVE YOUR BEST BET IS TO START AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CALLSIGN SERIES AND GO FROM THERE. TAKE A LOOK AT MR. ROBINSON'S AND/OR HOLLOWAY'S PAGES ON AMAZON, AND THE ORDER OF THE BOOKS SHOULD BE THERE.
ACTION, KICK - A** CHARACTERS THAT I HAVE WATCHED DEVELOP FROM NEWBIES TO THE WELL-ROUNDED WARRIORS AND ADMIREABLE CHARACTERS FROM THE BEGINNING BOOKS.
PERSONAL DESIRES, HONOR, DUTY, KILLER INSTINCTS AND FIGHTING ABILITIES ALWAYS KEEP MY NOSE STUCK INSIDE THESE BOOKS AND NOVELLAS.
This book deals with a kings son, ready to be sacrificed by a power seeking man, mix some scifi elements as a terraforming spaceship with alien monsters and you have another great read. The mix of past history, some biblical elements as the prophet Dan-yel and some real to have existed people like King Nebuchadnezar just comes great together in the minds of these writers.

A great read, full of the action and monsters we expect form this series, I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. A very welcome addition to the Chess Team saga.
God bless you Jeremy for making an old man (72) happy.
