Volume 2 Surpasses Volume 1

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 succeeds in pretty much every way it conceivably could have. The first installment was terrific, being both fun and exciting to an extent most movies aren't, and this new movie manages to be even better in every sense.
Questions raised during the previous movie are addressed, new characters are added into the mix while the already established characters are explored and given additional depth, and all of it is wrapped up in a fascinating story that is captivating and dramatic without taking itself too seriously.
Ignoring noise being carried in the medium of space, especially during what amounts to a fireworks display near the end, is really the biggest problem I have with this movie...and it's not like that is a piece of poor filmmaking exclusive to this movie.
I'm glad that James Gunn is on board to helm Volume 3, because he has handled this franchise precisely the way it should be treated.

Short on creativity..

Poor writing using unnecessary suggestive adult dialog for gaps in creativity. Not recommended for kids.

Would give 4.5 if able, really enjoyed both Vol 1 and 2

I was skeptical thinking this movie was going to be all kid friendly, especially at the beginning with a talking raccoon… I don't mind cartoons with adult humor but my more manly half probably would be bored with it since we are two adults watching it alone at home. We both really liked it, and would give it 4.5 stars if possible, because lets be honest there aren't many movies that hit 5 star quality (Braveheart would be on our 5 star). However, we really enjoyed this after watching the 1st in the same day. (It was raining and we binged, don't judge!)

Better than the first and arguably the best Action/Comedy of 2017.

This movie is brilliantly written and cast with a storyline that near flirts with the underpinnings of the Bible. It even has the perfect build-up that was deceiving to all but the intuition of a woman.

They'll have a hard time attempting to outdo this movie with Volume 3; but they even leave a seed of anticipation that the writers aren't done yet.

4K HDR actually works for this movie

This is the 4th 4k Bluray disk we've bought. I've been extremely disappointed with 4k disks until now. The "HDR" functionality hasn't done anything on the previous disks. All of the other movies were just dark on the screen, ended up playing the Bluray disks so we could see the movies.

I was shocked when I started this movie and HDR appeared in the corner, showing that the TV detected it. I switched modes to Vivid - and WOW! Fantastic detail and colors. Blew us away.

Well worth getting the 4k version!!

I loved the first GOTG, and have watched it more times than I can count. This one is a close second. Love the humor. It's cleverly written and expertly initiated by the actors. It's a winner!
