Case is on the verge of graduating college when his parents die in a car accident. Left to take care of his twin younger siblings he is fumbling alone. A chance meeting with Gabbie, a preschool director will change his world. They will have to face obstacles and people from their past to move forward.
This book brings love, romance, children, friendship and a little heart break. I loved Case and Gabbie, they are the people I want to be.
Enjoyed the author's style and delivery!
The romance between the H and h was just wonderfully written! And the sex? Oh yeah!!!!
Case and Gabbie’s relationship was heart-warming and a great way to spend my time! I loved their first meeting in the drugstore - the twins and their antics are priceless! I really liked how Case took on the responsibility of his siblings, Charlie and Claire, and his sense of family and honor only made him a better man in my eyes. Gabbie really handled their initial meeting with tact and grace - she didn’t talk down to him, she helped him see what ‘could be’! Their connection was immediate, but grew stronger over time with mutual respect and their love for each other and the twins. Even though there were outside forces working against them, in the end their love for each other and their 'family' was strong enough to weather it all.
The characters are ‘real’ - every single one of them! This book will definitely leave you rooting for a happily-ever-after for the whole Thomas family!
The Guardian's Heart is a feel good beach read book. It's not overly angst ridden, there's just enough conflict to make things interesting and not over the top sweet, but the story line is interesting enough to have your attention. You can make sure your kids aren't being eaten by sharks while you're reading without too much annoyance or being pulled completely out of the story.
The characters are fairly fleshed out, I loved Case, Gabbie, and the twins. Case and Gabbie both had their frustrating behavior moments but Case was very supportive of Gabbie through her insecurities and super hot both in body and soul and Gabbie did a lot to support Case also. She was wonderful with the twins, who were adorable. Gabbie has a pretty good group of friends, barring one who needed slapped, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. My only complaint is the insta-love, though the explanation of it was cute, it just is really fast.
I finished this book in one sitting I was so wrapped up in Case and Gabbie's relationship. Their first meeting was so real I could imagine it happening to anyone, even me :) Gabbie was instantly drawn to Case and the kids and it was nice to see her helping him out. Much like reality, insecurities came into play in their relationship but they worked through things together. Both characters were written so much like real people it felt like I was right there with them. I was devastated when Aunt Gwen tried to ruin their chance at happiness. It's hard to find well written interracial love stories and this was a great example of that. I would definitely recommend this book!
