I like the way the story is told - we get to see their relationship build in the past, so when Georgia returns & there is somewhat of an insta-love going on, it's not really because they have that history. There's a lot of sweet, the right amount of heat, a dash of suspense, and a few really great surprises along the way. And maybe a familiar face or two! Thumbs up! : )
I'm hoping the rest of Brody & Beau's brothers are getting stories. ; )
Georgia Westbury comes from a wealthy family with a father who is only concerned on the next deal that will get him more money. He’s corrupt and doesn’t care about his family unless they are helping him bring in more money. He married into money and has ruled his family with an iron fist from day one. Georgia has lived a life of money and no wants, with the exception of love and care. The one boy she has had a crush on for years, she has to act like she’s better than him and doesn’t care about him because her father had drilled it into her head that he is dangerous and no good.
Beau Bradford has loved Georgia for years. Growing up and going to the same school since day one, he has had her in his sights for years in high school. They have a strained relationship until tragedy hits Beau’s family and Georgia is in danger. That’s the turning point for them, but it won’t last for long.
I loved this story and it was hard to put the book down. I love the characters and will have to read Ms. Brooks’ other books. This was my first read of Ms. Brooks, but it definitely won’t be my last. I was gifted this ARC to read and I am so happy that I was a winner and had the chance to read it. I loved it and can’t wait for more. I give this story a 5-star review because it had everything I love in a book. Alpha, possessive man, a woman who has no problem letting that man take care of her and puts all of her trust in him, even if it takes ten years for her do it, action from start to finish and pages that draw my attention so much that I lose track of everything going on around me.
In Guarding Georgia, Georgia and Beau have quite the history together and not a good one. He was the bad boy from the wrong side of town and she was from a wealthy family. In their younger years, their interactions reminded me of a little boy pulling the hair of the little girl he likes in order to get her attention. She pretends to hate it but really likes him in return. She finally let her feelings for him show and they have a short time together until something horrible breaks them apart. Georgia leaves without any warning, breaking both of their hearts. Now ten years later Georgia is back, needing Beau's help.
I'm not going to tell anymore of the story except to say Anna Brooks gives us the perfect second chance romance. You get all the feels. There's so much to resolve between Beau and Georgia and Ms. Brooks is adept at making you feel the angst, loss, betrayal as well as forgiveness, love and passion the couple deals with. I love how the author made me care about the characters.
Guarding Georgia gets 5 stars from me and I highly recommend it. Can't wait to read more of the Bradford boys! Congratulations, Anna Brooks, on a well-written story.
This story was everything, it was two teenagers learning to love, it has trauma on both their parts, it has the evil spirit that tears them apart, it has a wonderful reunion and it has drama and suspense!!!! I mean what more can a girl ask for when reading a romance lol…. The story just has it all going on!
Beau is sweet and sexy alpha male and he loves his Gigi so very much. He let her get away once, but this time, no one is going to get in his way when he tries to get her back, not even her lol…. Georgia is a beautiful girl inside and out and with a little help from fate she if finally able to find her way back to her one true love. These two were unstoppable the second time around.
I am so looking forward to having more stories about the Bradford boys, please and thank you!
