About the Author

Jenny Gucci was studying music in Italy in 1977 when she fell in love with one of the world's wealthiest men. A few months later she became Mrs Paolo Gucci and her life changed overnight to one of incredible privilege. However, when the marriage went sour, she quickly learned the downside of being a Gucci wife as her philandering husband cut her and their daughter off without a penny. The subsequent battle through the High Courts of London and New York continued up to and after Paolo's death in 1995. It has never been resolved. Jenny is now a performing soprano and voice coach currently dividing her time between Marbella, London and New York where her 24-year-old daughter, Gemma, is a private banker. Apart from music, Jenny's other passions are animals and fashion - she has the ambition to one day present a make-over show for 'women of a certain age'.

Fun and easy read!
Personal story of one of the former Paolo Gucci's wives Jenny. Gave me goosebumps on a few occasions . Also, made me never want to own any Gucci's creations ever again.

Unlike other designer biographies which are typically factual collations of past articles and viewpoints by notable personalities, this book offered a more personal narrative of the Gucci empire. Focused on feelings and emotions of the personalities involved, and at times offering glimpses into how the Gucci business functioned, it was an easy, and somewhat compulsive, read. Being written from the perspective of a Gucci wife, I felt that there may be some biasness in views expressed, especially when the good and the bad were written in such a strong contrasting form that one can't help but wonder if there could be a different side of both.

This is easy reading and a good summary of what happened to the family. It may need to be supplemented with other materials if to be used for research or consulting.
