These plein air carton panels are reminiscent of those used by Toulouse-Lautrec and Edouard Vuillard, but a whole lot more archival. They have a pleasing texture and color, are waterproof (will not buckle) and are super lightweight. May be used as is, or primed with acrylic gesso, acrylic gel medium or PVA. Suitable for oils, alkyds, acrylics, casein, gouache and pastels. Mounting to a rigid support before framing is advised. 0.20-inch thick (approximately 1/32-inch). 10 sheets per pack.

It was an interesting surface to work on, a bit rough in texture they really soaked up the oil in the paint, so I had to really work to get the results I wanted out of the paint. I'll have to use a few more to see if I really like them.
To solve the problem of how to put on an easel, I put push pins on the four corners and mounted it on a thin piece of foamcore. Worked perfectly.
I have a project where I needed hardboard 1/16" thick, but just couldn't find it. After searching, I found these which the manufacturer's site said were 1/32" thick. So I decided to give these a try and glue/laminate two sheets together. This worked perfectly for me and I suspect that the two sheets laminated together may actually be stronger than if I had found 1/16" thick hardboard.
