The art work is fine but not captivating
on December 30, 2015
My 14-month old hates this book. It is literally the only book we own that she won't let me read. She enjoys Shakespeare's sonnets more than this--which is to say she hates this book.
I'm not sure what she has against it but here are a few complaints of my own: it doesn't rhyme, or make playful use with language. The art work is fine but not captivating. The character names are tedious and awkward. The paragrapghs are too long and uninteresting. All and all this makes for a clumsy, dull read.
I would recommend I Love You Through and Through instead. Now that's a fun book with compelling illustrations.
