I like these stands a lot. We already have 2 of 'em in the woods and they are actually pretty portable if you need to quickly drag 'em a 100 or so yards to take advantage of a better spot.I have done this several times, by myself recently. They are not overly heavy for an averagely built guy. I personally do not like climbing stands.Too much fuss to get 'em up for me.
Yes,these stands do sometimes have construction issues. I had to punch out a couple of unfinished hole drills for bolts but it wasn't that bad.All in all these are an awesome stand for the price and fit my mode of hunting well.I have never felt unsafe on top of one of these things.
If the missing part arrives as promised I will turn this into a 5 star review.
Oh, and yes the instructions are hopeless. I had to quickly look at one in our woods to be sure of the placement of a couple of parts. There are videos online showing assembly by the way.
So the missing parts arrived and the stand has been up for a few weeks now. One thing I have to make note of is that this newer stand feels a little more flimsy than older versions of this stand we have in our woods. It is also already rusting quite a bit in various areas unlike the older stands which seem more resistant to the damp weather. It seems quality has gone down a notch with the newer iterations of this stand so I will keep this review at 3 stars for price vs quality.
it has a narrow seat and stand, so not a lot of room to shoot different positions.....if you know which direction your game is coming, it's a good stand.
