When I got this book, it not only helped me as a reference to obedience training, but it helped to train my pup to help me with pain management, medical alert, interrupt severe episodes so I can live another day, and behavior intervention.
Now my pup is fully trained, he's very well-behaved in public and knows what he should and shouldn't do, this book did wonders for my dog and I, my life feels easier on me now despite its challenges.
One thing I wish the author would've done was write what to expect from other people in response to my service dog. I've had people try to pet my dog despite his vest, patches and the "do not pet, working service animal" signs on him. I've had people tell me "no pets allowed here, take him out" when that's not true, I've had to fight a lot of people to keep my service animal with me so he can do his job and help me survive. I wish the author could've educated both handlers and those who aren't handlers of service animals regarding what to expect from the public and what to expect from a handler. Would've been really good to know.
