A second chance at life on a new world.

Morgan used to be a pretty normal guy. He went to college by day and played online games by night, leading his guild into new conquests—until he got hit by a car, and a dude wearing a wetsuit appeared in front of him. The man offered him a new chance at life in a world that he had created, a world with similar rules to the games that Morgan loved to play. There is the promise of great rewards and power, he says, if Morgan manages to complete the Tower of Power. Stupid name, I know.

Morgan didn’t usually trust strangers who seem to have god complexes, but he was in a pinch. There’s a crazy-looking dude saying that he is technically not a god on one end of the tunnel, and a blinding light on the other end—and he was really not digging the light.

So he accepted the offer from the surfer god-not-god.

Getting dropped into a strange new world with no idea what the rules are was not something that Morgan was a fan of; and in this strange world, it seems like everything is out to eat his face. It was a good thing, then, that he stumbled onto two half-elf twins willing to help him get the hang of this strange new world.

Now, all he needs to do is survive long enough to reach this Tower.

This book series is part of KalVerse. All of my books take place inside a shared multiverse, and some characters crossover from series to series. But it is not required for you to read all the series in order to understand what is happening, each series has its own set of characters and a storyline which is contained inside of that series.

This book is basically a knock off of The Land series, only much worse.

First, the main character is a complete baffoon with a serious personality disorder. It is simply miserable to read about him. I actually wished him dead multiple times. I mean, he passed out three times. Why couldn't he die atleast once? Well, die to where it actually counted. The guy was a complete idiot, and one of the stupidest characters I have ever read about. Someone would state something clearly and plainly, yet he would still ask them what they meant. For example, there is a sign and arrow pointing to a hidden lever in an area they got trapped in earlier in the book. Next to the sign and arrow is a plac that says "Look more closely, or better yet don't get trapped," or something along those lines. The character exclaims "What does it mean by that?" He constantly says redundant or moronic things. It's annoying and miserable to read.

Second, the characters all lacked personality and were not interesting in the slightest.

Basically, this is a cheap, poorly made knock off of the The Land series by Aleron Kong. That series is already retarded, so you can only imagine how bad this.book is.

Fairly well written with a decent if bland world. The main problem is the same issue many LitRPG books face. As this genre explodes most of the books fall into one of a couple of archtypes that have already been written. Written recently and by authors who are still writing. If you are first great but if you follow behind you had better be a lot better and they usually aren't. This is basically a softer rewrite of "The Land" with a similar but much more annoying MC.

Fills an afternoon but look for better.

This was a fun book. This is the usual truck-san takes out a dude and he's then transported to a video game world, and it's all uphill from there. This has to be one of the more "realistic" isakai books. For one, it's permadeath, two, mob's are not regular mob's. To sum up what this book is like, imagine DarkSouls and Final Fantasy had a kid together. This would be that world. The character development was spot on. The character and their insecurities were very believable, and the main character is one of the few that I absolutely LOVE. He's grounded, he's not the type of guy that shows up and thinks that he can just run stuff because he can level up. The first battle that he cuts his teeth on almost kicks said teeth down his throat and had to learn to adjust quite quickly. The book ends on a pretty solid note and it sets up for what appears to be quite the LONG campaign to come. I can easily see this book becoming quite the series. Something along the length of the wheel of time length if the pacing stays the same.

I enjoyed reading this story and wanted to give it four out of five stars but after I thought about it for a while I realized that there are quite a few short comings to the book. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great scenes in the book - like when the two “gods” are talking to each other in the laboratory. That’s probably one of the best scenes because the author showed good interaction and hinted at information rather than telling us. The draw backs of the book are that the author does tend to summarize too much or advance the story weeks at a time which causes a lot of telling. Also the book is rather short in length. On the plus side I enjoyed all of the LITRPG elements, and while the author kept the romance simple in the story I appreciated the fact that the author did not create a harem or go into too many sexual details. Overall just a fun book to read but not too deep in meaning or symbolism. A relax and enjoy the show kind of book.

This series has a lot of room for growth, character development, and world creation. In some ways, the author rushes (Morgan's love interest) and in other he almost dragging his feet (world history and knowledge) but neither are off putting enough to take away from the book. Morgan is not of the world the story takes place in and it makes sense that he wouldn't understand what is easily taken as basic knowledge. Author addresses this a couple of times and it is done well. Easily, this series (with only ONE book) is in the Top Three of best LitRPGs. The leveling and gaming mechanics are well thought out. Morgan gets upset often (nearly annoyingly so) about simple things that, hopefully, future books will fade out. The series has much promise due to the size of the world, number of other guilds, and finally the Tower itself. Easily a dozen book potential series and that is highly appealing.

I should start off by saying im not a critic and enjoy reading fun adventures.
I really like litrpg and even though the adventure can feel predictable at times, the story is still fun.
The story is a typical new life adventure that has character progression and levels that require the characters in the story to get stronger and stronger or die.
In short it is a fun story and i recommend giving it a try. If you enjoy this book you will enjoy the next books.

Well written adventure that makes you want the next one ASAP. The main character, after a slow start, is a hoot and a great center to what I hope will be a long series. The guild aspects look to be very interesting and the whole premise is fresh and unique. One problem tho... Morgan got cheated the XP for 2 Shamans in the big battle. Shame on the God not God.

As with most of these sorts of novels a man in the real world enters a fantasy one. He levels up and gains friends but the key to advancement is to join a guild. This proves to be more difficult than expected so Morgan, our hero, comes up with an idea. If you like reading about D&D roleplaying with stats and tables then this is a good choice but if not don't be put off because it is also a decent story with good characters.

I gave it a four stars as i enjoyed the book and will read the next one in the series. However i didn't like how each character held nothing back when talking to complete strangers. E.g. one character reveals that they have a rare item to a group of strangers, when there is nothing stopping the strangers stealing this item other than the goodness of their own hearts. Just this aspect and the hint that a tope i don't like will be brought in soon caused it to fall from 5 stars for me.

Not a bad read. A race to level up leads to a hugely over powered character. This though is the book premise. I thought he could have been more imaginative with the mobs though. Too many skeletons and zombies. I have bought the sequel and hope his characters develop rout side of the levelling.

The writing was good, the fight scenes did not seem to flow well. But the issue I had, were the decisions the MC made, who is a gamer but did not make gaming decisions. I have a feeling that the author planned the story out, by starting at the end, and working backwards. Because that is the only way the MC decisions make sense, and it drove me nuts.
