THE GUITAR CONTROLLER
Easier to play, harder to master
The guitar controller was redesigned for the best gameplay across all skill levels. The new 2x3 button layout makes it easier to play with only three buttons, or, on veteran, it starts mirrors what it's like to play chord shapes with all six buttons, making the game easier for beginners and harder for experts.
New Controller Features
More real than ever
The guitar controller has been updated to reflect the new style and realism of Guitar Hero Live.
All new button layout
The new 2x3 button layout creates the feeling of switching between strings and provides an enhanced experience when playing chords.
Classic strum bar
Why mess with perfection? The strum bar you know and love is back in all its glory.
Next level Hero Powers
Use the guitar controller's tilt sensor or the new Hero Power button to activate one of the many newly available Hero powers.
Return of the whammy
The classic whammy bar makes a triumphant return, to help you show off your flair.
TAKE ON VOCALS!
Offering even more ways to play together, Guitar Hero Live adds another layer of social gameplay to your living room with vocals, letting singers take the stage. Vocalists will be able to accompany the Guitarist with their very own lyrics highway at the top of the screen. All you need is a USB mic and you're ready to rock out.

Now, for my recommendation about this game, it depends on how well your Internet connection is because the main on-disc setlist alone is not worth this game alone. If you have no Internet access or have bad Internet or often disconnect from your Internet randomly, I DO NOT recommend this game. If you have good Internet connection, then I recommend this Guitar Hero game, but that is if you can get into the new guitar layout. After all, the GHTV online streaming game mode is the highlight of Guitar Hero Live. That is where you would want to spend most of your time on when playing this game after completing career mode.
If you plan on buying this game, I recommend buying it from a retailer/store directly that sells them rather than ordering online since ordering online can be risky for the guitars as I read that some people had faulty guitars on delivery from ordering them (though my guitar was completely fine when I ordered it from Amazon, but I might have been lucky).
The positives: The guitar design is great. The key layout seems similar to that of a real guitar more so than any of the past versions.
Theoretically, the game has tons of content with the new "live" game mode. Basically, it's like turning on MTV(back when it actually featured music) and being able to play along with whatever song happens to be featured at that moment. As you play, you accumulate tokens which allow you to select specific songs from the available library - which is nice. Also, you can purchase tokens with real money, allowing you an unlimited number of selected plays. At first, this sounded like a pay-to-play scheme, and I was wary! In reality, players will accumulate so many tokens just from playing the game for a couple of hours that they will likely never have the urge to purchase anything with real-life money. It's a good and fair system.
Another big change with GHL is the fact that you're playing in front of a recorded audience that reacts to how well you match the notes. Since I havent played previous versions of the game, I can't really make a judgement as to whether this is better or worse than an animated audience, but at least it looked cool. I didn't want to miss notes because I'd have a low score... I didn't care about that. Instead, I wanted to play well because I didn't want to disappoint my band-mates. Missing notes causes them to look disappointed and ask, "Dude, what's going on? You're blowing the set." It kinda-sorta adds a tangible level of pressure as if you're really playing a live gig in front of thousands of people!
The negatives:
The foremost problem I had with GHL was the music. I expected to play songs with classic guitar riffs. Aerosmith, The Beatles, Nirvana, Rolling Stones, Zepplin, etc etc would have all been great choices for anything related to a guitar. Instead, the game features songs by Rhianna and Katy Perry. Of course music is subjective, so just because I'm not a fan of those artists doesn't mean that you wont like them. Here's the problem: guitar hero by definition is a guitar game. The way I envisioned it working is: as the guitarist in the song plays a rhythm, the player must strum the plastic guitar instrument simultaneously with that rhythm. That makes sense right? Unfortunately, many of the songs featured in the game don't have distinct guitar tracks. So you end up simply strumming your guitar-controller along with a visual pattern on the screen. It isn't about matching your hand motion with the sound and rhythm of the music... it's about following a visual pattern on the screen. Basically it's a redesigned version of "simon says."
The second problem was far more catastrophic than the first. One of the buttons on the fret kept sticking! As I was following along with the notes on the screen, suddenly I would miss four or five in a row and I'd realize one of the key was stuck. It was annoying!
Finally, the game took itself just a little too seriously. At some point the player becomes aware that he/she is watching a recorded audience react to things. You realize a director must have coordinated all of these "actors" at some point. I just imagine him screaming over a megaphone, "okay, pretend you're listening to great music!" "Ok, now pretend the band is awful!" The actors respond accordingly by booing and hissing. It's all very cheezy in the end. It didn't feel real.
Due to the guitar malfunctioning, I chose to return the game two days after I purchased it.

Not really for kids, unless they are amazing at games.
I play hard and very hard on first hero, but this on normal is something else. Takes some time to get use to.
el juego es muy bueno en su modo online pero sin este se siente limitado.
