Start a Band...the Guitar Hero Way

Guitar Hero World Tour transforms music gaming by expanding Guitar Hero's signature guitar gameplay into a cooperative band experience that combines advanced wireless instruments with online and offline gameplay modes including online Band Career and 8-player "Battle of the Bands," which allows two full bands to compete head-to-head online. The game features a slick redesigned guitar, an authentic electronic drum kit, and a microphone, as well as a Music Studio music creator that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own rock ‘n’ roll anthems.

Wireless Instruments

New to GHWT is a redesigned, more responsive guitar controller, which features a touch-sensitive slide bar on the neck that allows the player to play through certain song passages without needing to strum. Check out the drum kit featuring three drum pads, two raised cymbals, and a bass kick pedal. The drum controller combines larger and quieter, velocity-sensitive drum heads with soft rubber construction to deliver authentic bounce back and is easy to set up, move, break down and store.

Be the Next Great Songwriter

Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch utilizing the guitar controller and drum kit. Players can create their tracks and then play them in-game or share the recordings with the entire Guitar Hero community through GHTunes. GHTunes allows other gamers from around the world to download and play the community's original tracks. Available to PlayStation 3 gamers is Line 6's guitar tone technology, enabling them to use amps, cabs, and effects from the Line 6 POD.

Create the Band

Budding rock stars can live out their rock ‘n’ roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument or any combination of instruments, in addition to the full band experience. When rocking as part of a band, up to four players can jam together in quickplay or as they progress through a career. Both band and single-player careers feature non-linear progression giving artists the option to change difficulty and instruments with a variety of different gigs available at any time.

Never Jam Solo Again

Virtual musicians in need of band mates can take their careers online forming worldwide ensembles so no rock star ever has to play a gig solo. Plus, GHWT adds a "Battle of the Bands" modes, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to establish global supremacy.

Customize Everything

The character creator allows gamers to create a rock star with style as unique as their own. Absolute customization from the clothes, to the facial and body structure, to the tattoos and accessories, players are encouraged to unleash their inner rock legend. The Rock Star Creator doesn't just allow players to build the ultimate rock god; the in-depth creators include the ability to customize guitars, drums and microphones. Adding yet another layer of personalization, gamers can create custom logos for their instruments, band, or album covers.

A Set List for the Ages

The Guitar Hero World Tour set list is comprised entirely of master recordings from some of the greatest artists of all-time including Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime. There are over 85 tracks, plus frequent downloadable singles and track packs. In addition to the killer track list, the game will feature rock icons such as Hayley Williams of Paramore and Travis Barker of +44 and blink-182.

A huge improvement over the third installment

With the instruments expanded to drums and mic additionally to the guitar and bass and a pretty cool and extended track selection, World Tour arrives with the intention of pitting against Rock Band .
Comparing this one to the previous installment, the battles improved in this game, now you actually battle to win the cheering from the crowd rather than battling your opponent with powers like in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock . Characters that make appearances are as varied as Sting, Ozzy and Hendrix. Difficulty levels are consistent accordingly to the number of fret buttons you use, though difficulty seems to have been toned down in World Tour compared to Guitar Hero 3.

There is little to add to the existing reviews on this website, I got a little late on this game and got it just before the fifth installment was released. The addition of songs in Spanish is quite welcome, bands like The Mars Volta and Radio Futura are present for the joy of the few of us fans. Additional downloadable content in Spanish can also be found on the PSNetwork, Loquillo, M-Clan, Fito and Fitipaldis just to name a few. The available songs for download are quite varied as well, of course since GH5 was released no more new content for world tour has been released.

The addition of the microphone is great, although the one included is wired, so there's room for enhancement there. I was worried when I received the box from Amazon as it had a note that said "Do not sell before release date", you may already know that the early Guitar and Drum kits for World Tour have known issues not playing well in some cases; well after a month or so of using the guitar, the strum bar would fail making the game unplayable, it was not really a big deal for me as Activision offers warranty after three months of the purchase, they will gladly replace the defective items at no additional cost once you enter your information in their website. You can provide a credit card number and have them ship you a new one immediately, once received you ship back the defective one; or you can also not provide a credit card information, print a shipping label they give you, ship the defective guitar and as son as they receive it they will send you a new one. I did the last and it took no more than 2 weeks for me to get my new guitar.

An incredibly addictive game well worth the price it has nowadays!

I bought this game for the PS3 for my daughters for Christmas. I had to hunt this set down because it's the only one with a drum set. My daughter is so impatient (like her dad !) to take the time to learn how to play the guitar. Haha ! So I had to get this because she can play the drums. I was a little skeptical and worried at first because quite a few reviews said they had trouble syncing the drums. But I think that's for the Wii because they had no problem setting the game up and syncing the drums. They're 11 & 12 and they did everything by themselves. They have so much fun playing this game. It was a hit with everyone on Christmas day. Even me and their dad will jump on the drums and/or guitar and join in on the fun. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who loves to play this type of game.

Not So Great Game, But Good Instrument

First of all, Guitar Hero World Tour is a great game if you play alone. It is not really good when playing as a band; one person make a deadly mistake and the whole band got boo'ed (the song will end). But when considering that this is the first Guitar Hero that offer a band play, it is alright to give Activision some time to make an improvement. This is proved when Guitar Hero 5 is way better than Guitar Hero World Tour

As for the instruments, I'd say that it is worth of my money. A single set of drum costs $99, and with the same price you can get this bundle set of GH:WT. I had read in forums that the drum are not very sensitive, but I having no problem with drum (I only played the drum until Hard mode, so I don't know if it will have problems on Expert mode). As for the guitar and mic, I had no problems with them.

Guitar Hero World Tour Bundle Set is average; the game is not that great but the instruments work nicely.

Fun game. I'm in my early 20's, so some of the songs are a little dated for me but a lot of them are still pretty good. I like that there is the option of playing the guitar, the drums and singing in this one because older guitar hero games only have the guitar option.

I would definitely recommend this game but make sure that you look at what songs are on it first (This kind of game is much more fun if you like the music on it). If you don't like the songs on this game, there are other guitar hero games that are Beatles music and Metalica music. And if you don't like those bands, you can also look at rock band games

We originally purchased this product for our 10 year old son, he was WOWED at Christmas. Then we played it as a family and man, let me tell you, we had a blast!!! To make it even more fun, he has a gaming chair with an unbelievable sound system. We blast it and have so much fun together as a family. Snow days are no longer dreaded because we run upstairs to play with it in his room!! I am seriously considering a second system for the basement!! This product is very durable. This is by far one of the best investments that we have made for "family entertainment"!! I would highly recommend this product.

Hey everyone,

I recently started to buy things in Amazon, specially games or music albuns that aren't or sale in my Country or is cheapier order it here than in a local store.

This game is a 13kg package and i most say that arrived in perfect conditions, neither the package was scratch or anything like that. Everything works very well and i started to have fun with my friends and family already :P

The drum is something spetacular but i'm really a noob for now ^^

I recommend this game if you like to have parties in your house ;)

And btw, the songlist is really cool.

This is an awesome game, great for when I have house parties, everyone was going their own way, until i popped this game in and then everyone got together. We all jammed this classic jams till dawn. Even my foreign friends who I couldn't understand one thing they usually say, I was impressed when they sang these classic rock jamz in perfect english! It is awesome.
