These chocolate chips are expensive for a reason...they are delicious. However, I unpacked a bag to find half the bag melted together. Please make sure these don’t get warm before shipping!!

This is the sort of gift for a baker that makes your heart stop a little. Can you imagine it? You reach into the unknown, pull out one glamorous red bag and discover that you have Guittard Chocolate. Bittersweet. Organic. 74%. Wafered. And then you reach back in and figure out you have another whole bag to work with. Serious baker, chocoholic, and chocoholic nirvana.

I knew exactly what I had ordered, and I was still darn excited when it got here. I still am treating the stuff with baby gloves, and aside from a few pieces to nibble at thoughtfully, another two in some hot chocolate, three more I just grabbed to refresh my memory while I wrote this review, and the then maybe a few celebratory pieces will be in order. The funny thing is that this isn't technically a chocolate to be eaten out of hand. It's very dark and only partially sweetened,

That every single wafer is perfect made me Martha Stewert in my imagination. What I taste when I take a nibble Is the brownies about 1 1/2 c. of this chocolate will become. Or maybe chocolate cupcakes with a vanilla icing and chocolate creme filling? The best thing about a nice chocolate like this is that it take very little else to flavor what you make with it. Just some appropriate sweetener and some fat and you're good to go.

Or maybe some nuts and a little caramel. Sky's the limit.

Two bags of high-quality baking chocolate ? Yes, Please.

Melts smoothly for perfect results

I absolutely love to bake so I am always in the kitchen creating something for family and friends. Recently one of my friends came into town and we wanted to make something special for her to take back home. So I was really happy to have these organic chocolate baking chips on hand to go with the fresh strawberries we had bought earlier in the day. The chocolate was so incredibly easy to work with. We simply poured the chips into a double boiler and melted over medium heat stirring constantly as the chips melted. The trick to melting chocolate is to not melt directly over your heat source and to have the patience to do it slowly. This ensures your chocolate will not seize up on you. Once melted, we removed the melted chocolate from the double boiler and allowed to cool for just a few minutes. In the mean time we took the strawberries out of the refrigerator and put wax paper down on a cookie tray. From there you simply dip the strawberries in the melted chocolate covering the berry fully and place on the wax paper to set. With the leftover chocolate I placed it into candy molds and placed those onto the tray as well. From there it was into the fridge and viola! Beautiful chocolates to package up and send home. As you can see from the photos, the chocolate performed perfectly and tasted amazing! This is a semi sweet chocolate so dark chocolate lovers will really enjoy it's flavor. I've also paired these chips with a glass of Merlot, so you can enjoy them right out of the bag too. No matter how you choose to eat it, I think you will appreciate the high quality of it's recipe and taste. I did receive this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Love this pack of chocolate

Love this pack of chocolate. Both the box and the bags holding the chocolate are very nice. Ideal to get as gifts. The chocolate taste just like I expected from the dark chocolate. It is just right me. You can taste the rich chocolate flavor, and not too sweet. We also tried chocolate covered strawberries. They melted well and covered the strawberry smoothly. Of course, it tasted great when eaten together with strawberries. Love it, and will buy again. I was offered a discount in exchange for an honest review.

The bittersweet chocolate came in a fancy black box that it would make a great gift for someone that likes baking. I myself enjoy baking things from scratch so I decided to make chocolate cupcakes with it . The cupcakes came out great and I was also able to try out doing many other desserts with it. I had not tried this chocolate before but it tasted good and not too chocolaty. * I received it for a highly discounted price to test and review with my honest opinion.*
