This is the paraffin wax that my mother used to seal jelly and jam jars. It can also be used to make candles or can be put in the paraffin bath. But it's a FRACTION of the cost of "candle" wax or the perfumed wax used in the wax baths. Unless you are using beeswax, I believe all these waxes are the same paraffin wax I bought for $2.50 a pound rather than $10. (I actually used it to cast a sculpture.) It's pure enough to use with food and it's tough and inexpensive enough to use for candlemaking or sculptures. It's a great buy.

I buy this once a year to make my holiday chocolate. It really gives the chocolate that smooth and shiny look. Yes it is edible most people think its only for canning.

I used it to make fire starters for my fireplace. I roll up small strips of newspaper and dip them in the melted wax with a string around the rolls. It works great. But that's all I've used it for

Good 'ole paraffin! With a shelf-life measured in decades, I purchased this to provide a dry lube for my bicycle chain, wanting to eliminate the "snake bite" marks on my ankle, which appears when my chain with the traditional solvent-based lubricants comes in contact with my leg. An emptied 28 ounce can of whole tomato product is the perfect size for holding flat a curled up chain. Then, placing a single bar of wax on top of the chain, and placing the can with chain into a retired rice-cooking pot full of water, the gradually melting wax along with the constant agitation from the boiling water insured that all surfaces of the chain were being coated. I suspect I can reheat the same wax and use it multiple times, which extends the product life and makes it significantly more cost effective than buying a tub of wax-based, bicycle-specific, lubricant. My only recommendation is to start with a perfectly clean chain void of any past lubricants - lacquer thinner works well in that it is relatively inexpensive by the gallon, dries quickly and leaves no noticeable residue. After the wax dip, take the pots outside, snag the chain with a wire coat hanger, and while holding it over a trash bin, shake off the the excess wax. It will fly off the chain like water. Then, after the wax hardens, break the chain by working each link back and forth a couple of times, while brushing off the excess wax particles with an old tooth brush. If your hands are clean after this process, it means that you had adequately cleaned your chain prior to the wax dip.

Ride.

i bought the wax for my long board to silence the squeaks i thought it was one bar but it comes with 4 bars and it did not disappoint. i was surprised with how little i needed it seems that for my kind of use it'll last a life time overall its still a good buy if you need it for candles

I ordered this product because our aluminum sliding doors were not sliding smoothly. I rubbed it on the tracks and ZOOOOM, they're moving now. Unbelievable.
