The RGM-89S Stark Jegan is the updated version of the Federation grunt MS debut in Char's Counterattack. This new version is featured in the Gundam Unicorn OVA series currently being released and this HGUC kit is a very good one, capturing the details, look and proportions of the animated version very well with good articulation and a more aggressive, beefy exterior.

This kit is relatively simple in detail but the color of the plastic closely matches the lineart obviating the need for additional painting except for details in the thrusters and vernier jets. Some adhesive decals are included but to get further detail I recommend getting an extra set of UC era Char's counterattack waterslide decals. Figure is quite sturdy and light with very poseable joints and works well with any standard Gundam action base for display.

A very good buy.

I've always had a soft spot for grunt mobile suits, their more simplistic and rugged designs have always appealed to me far more than most of the fancy Gundams and ace MS that dominate the screen, so seeing this Jegan prominently featured in an early episode of "Gundam Unicorn" was a nice treat.
The Stark Jegan is really just a regular Jegan with a giant rocket strapped to its back and some extra armor and rocket launchers bolted on. Fittingly, the extra armor does at times get in the way of the model's flexibility, limiting the poses possible, although with an action base it's possible to get some that look neat. The assembly affords nice tight joints, so unless you play with it for hours and hours it should hold poses well. the only painting the model needs is on a few detail pieces here and there. While it doesn't look terrible without them painted, it's obvious that it would look much nicer with them painted on.
The model includes a beam rifle, a saber or two and a bazooka.
