Product Description

CalenGoo is a calendar app that can sync with Android calendar and Google Calendar. It is designed to make it easier and faster to work with your calendar on your phone. Five different calendar views (day, week, month, agenda, landscape day) give you a good overview over your upcoming events. To make rescheduling events easy, they can be moved or copied via drag&drop in the day, week, month and landscape day view.

Additional features:

- Drag&Drop support to move, copy, open and delete events
- Widgets to see your events on your home screen without opening the app: day widget (4x1, 4x2, 4x3), week widget (4x3, 4x4), month widget (4x3, 4x4), agenda widget (2x2, 2x3, 4x1, 4x2, 4x3, 4x4) and task widget (2x2). In the month and week 4x4 widget you can tap a single day to directly open it.
- Zoomable month view
- Configurable startup view (day, view, month, agenda)
- When adding recurring events you can use the same rules that you can use in Google Calendar, e.g. you can create events "on Monday and Thursday every two weeks" or "every last Friday in a month".
- Direct sync with Google Calendar option e.g. to download all historical data and to be able to assign icons to events. This way you can also sync devices that do not have Google Apps (like the Kindle Fire) with your Google Calendar.
- Improved date picker that displays a whole month to choose a date
- Search function
- Customizable hardware buttons (e.g. you can assign the "Today" function to the "back" button)
- Sync with Google Tasks
- ICS export function (for all calendars)
- ICS import function (for local calendars)
- Many configuration options to change the way the app looks and works.

I purchased this to sync with my Google Calendar, which I've used on my desktop for years. I run 6 separate calendars for our very busy family and I can now see all of them on my Kindle Fire whether I have WiFi or not. I'm very happy with this product.

I have tried several Calendar apps, and even abandoned my old steadfast PocketInformant for CalenGoo. I only wish I would have found this one first! While best for users who already rely on Google Calendar, this app syncs and updates Google Tasks and Google Calendar seamlessly and without issues and it has many customization options: colours, backgrounds, fonts -- you can even use Google's Icon set. One of the great benefits of Calengoo are the WIDGETS (numerous to choose from) and the ability to create recurring (and oddly recurring) tasks (great feature no one has!) and appointments/events. Need to schedule an appointment every 3 weeks on a Monday and Tuesday? You can do it in Calengoo. The screenshots don't live up to the simple and attractive look of the program; again ALL colours can be customised so you can spruce it up for the holidays if you're so inclined). Great job on this calendar.

(if you don't like Google Calendar - it works with the internal Android calendar as well)

Couldn't have worked better on the Fire. Does everything I need including syncing both ways, editing, etc. Actually, I was surprised. And very pleased.

This review is primarily for Kindle Fire (KF).

I have been using Google Calendar (gCal) for years, since the moment they put it out actually. I have come to love it for a variety of reasons. I don't do smart phones (for now) so the ability to use SMS for various gCal functions was what sold it to me. That is, until I got my KF.

Once I got my beloved Kindle Fire, this was one of the apps I specifically looked for, since I was already using gCal. SMS was great, but I felt this would be so much better. Happily I found that it is.

This pretty much has all the functions that the web version offers, but for KF this is essential for offline accessibility. Additional tablet features (that gCal doesn't have) offer a rich set of wonderful settings that are just too numerous to list here. That goes for Pros as well. There are too many pros to list so just suffice it to say, that pros are many and amazingly wonderful.

All that said, this loses a star for a couple of annoyances.

# Unlike the official Google web version, the day and week views do not display the end times of appointments, or events. This is essential. When I open the app, it's usually to schedule another appointment. I need to be able to see, in one fell swoop, what times I have open. I cannot fathom why it is written this way because it isn't like there isn't plenty of room for it, because there is more than enough room to add end times.

# There is no option to sync in the background. It does have a "force refresh" option on startup of the app, but most apps that have web sync options usually give you the option to sync X minutes, hours or times per day.

This is what the Google calendar & tasks should be; particularly tasks. Google tasks are relatively lame not allowing categorization or prioritization. Okay, Google does allow multiple lists which in a way can be used to categorize tasks, but YOU CAN ONLY VIEW ONE LIST AT A TIME. Aaaarrrgh. Calengoo uses lists (like Google), but has multiple views that allow the lists to be viewed in a consecutive stream in Tasks or combined in the Agenda view. You can also choose whether to show all tasks in the various calendar views. AND you can prioritize tasks in a 1-5 format and they're displayed accordingly. Excellent implementation. So now my Google tasks and calendar are extremely usable on my Android phone and Android Kindle, but the implementation on my real laptop computer running Windows is still the same lame implementation of the native Google apps. Until i came across a program called Bluestack which I installed (free) on my laptop. Bluestack allows you to run your Android apps on a Windows based computer, so now I have the functionality of Calengoo on my Windows laptop - does it get any better?

Since Google Calendars is not available for the Kindle Fire, it took me quite a while to find a calendar app that had similar functionality and didn't require a continuous Internet connection. I'm very happy to say I found it with this app! It has all the functionality I need and I love the way it is laid out...very user-friendly! Great buy!

I paid the $6 last spring and couldn't be happier w this calendar - it's my most-used app. The task manager is the best Google front-end; and the whole interface is professional-looking and easy to use. The tech support is best I've ever had w any Droid app.

There's a thorough website w walkthroughs (and a good search engine) to help you customize the calendar to heart's content, but I found the app intuitive out-of-the-box.

Most importantly, it's reliable. Tech support is reliable. And Calengoo is updated fairly regularly, but the updates are well-tested and non-intrusive so you don't have to worry about big changes or buggy releases.
