Water tank has a 16-ounce storage capacity.
Pull out the tank, pull up the black washer, and pour out the water.
Replace the washer and tank in the unit.
Thermo-Electric Peltier Technology Explained!
A fan draws air across a cold surface with heat applied on the opposite side.
Water in the air condenses on the cold surface, separating the water from the air.
The fan then blows the drier air out of the unit and...the water drops into the tank.

I decided to try this dehumidifier out due to its compact size and (honestly) cheap price. I honestly did not expect too much at first and planned to use it together with other moisture reducing products.
I plugged it in… and never had to look back. This tiny beast of a machine can suck all of the moisture out of my bathroom in minutes. I keep this thing on 24/7, and the bathroom remains mold and moisture free, even after a 3 hour hot tub soak that happened to splash water all over the floor.
I empty the plastic container (piece of cake to empty, there’s a black plug on the top that you have to pull out) when it’s half-way full, about every three days or so.
DO NOTE that the dehumidifier WILL NOT function effectively if the water tray is not emptied.
This thing is a little beast and is probably better than some of the much more expensive products on the market.
It's small and my original plan was to put it in the closet, but have it instead in my home office for now.
I plugged it in at 3:30 & came to look at it at 4:30. The 16oz tank had collected approx 1 tbsp of water. By next morning around 10a.m. it was up to 1/2 a cup. And today at 10:30 its 1 cup. I just measured it. The box says it collects approx 8oz of water per day @ 86F. It is end of April. The room temp probably gets up to 82F in the afternoons, but I think it will stay at collecting 1/2 a cup per day.
When I started this review, I had given it a 5 star. Reason for changing it to 4 stars is this.
I pulled the detachable water tray out to measure the quantity of water. Rightfully so, the tray has a cover with a hole in the middle where the water pours into. BUT!!!! No where does it say in the manual or labeled on the tray as to how to open to pour the water out from the tray. I thought the reason being, because it is quite obvious the full top cover had to be removed from the tray. Well, I tried that and it wouldn't budge. I broke a nail trying to pry it open. I heard a "tick' sound and didn't proceed any further, afraid I might break it. The top feels as if it should not be opened. I Finally just poured/shook the water out thru the small hole on the top.
My home office space is 250sq feet w/high ceiling (approx 14 ft) & carpeted. The unit is very quite. Its like a small fan running. Its not an eyesore either. I do like it, and will order a couple of more to put into my closets.Read more ›
When I first opened the box, I almost sent it back it was so ridiculously small. Instead I reread the reviews and decided to put it in my utility room expecting nothing. Boy, was I wrong!!! This tiny little thing did the trick. No more slimy floor. It is bone dry in there. I waited to write this review because I wanted to see if it could handle several high humidity 90 degree plus days in a row and it did. Plus I left the door wide open to the utility room. There is no need to keep the door closed in the room you are trying to dehumidify which I was worried about as my cat litter box is also in that room. So as happy as what I was over the performance of the Gurin I also discovered, when I got home the other night, and we had had blistering hot temps and my house had been closed up all day, that the humidity level was actually lower in the entire house which is not small. As crazy as this sounds this tiny thing really does make a huge difference and the funny thing is that when I go to empty it there might be an inch of water in the bottom after a couple of days and I do leave it running all the time when the humidity is high. This thing is awesome!!!!

I had to add another star after using this in my laundry room for about a year. This little dehumidifier takes out enough water to keep my uninsulated, unheated, unvented laundry room mold-free. There's a window, but it is too humid and chilly to leave it open most of the time. I empty the collection tank on the Gurin every couple of days.
I realized just how well the Gurin worked after removing it when we did some remodeling, switching out toilet and sink, and then forgetting to return it to its place. Within a couple of months I had mold and mildew growing in there and I finally remembered to get the Gurin and plug it back in. It has kept it mold and mildew free since then.
