About the author

Linda Poitevin is a writer possessed of both a light side and a dark one. On the dark side, she’s the author of the Grigori Legacy, an urban fantasy series featuring a hard-as-nails cop caught up in the war between Heaven and Hell. In her lighter moments, she writes the sweet and infinitely more hopeful Ever After contemporary romance series. And when she’s not plotting the world’s downfall or next great love story, she’s a wife, mom, friend, coffee snob, gardener, walker of a Giant Dog, minion to the Itty Bitty Kitty, and avid food preserver (you know, just in case that whole Zombie Apocalypse thing really happens).

I enjoyed this because although it is a contemporary romance, it had heart, humor and family. I recommend this book to those who enjoy clean romance with humor and a HEA.
Yes, Gareth is a famous actor, but aside from having to leave for a few days and one scene when his daughter is hounded by paparazzi, he could have been John Doe. His big secret is one that any man could have. That was slightly disappointing; if I’m reading a celebrity character, I want more immersion in his/her celebrity world. He was a little too good to be true with the kids and the chaos, especially considering he was still single at age 42.
There is such a thing as *too* much “won’t take no for an answer” and it was nearing the tipping point for me by getting redundant and annoying, making Gareth a little too wimpy and whiny. I kept waiting for the kids to say or do something to make Gwynneth realize she should give their romance a chance (that would have been more interesting than the way she did). But happily, the heroine makes a grand gesture at the end to obtain the HEA.
Children characters in romance books tend to be either absent or seriously stereotyped. The children in this book are very much fully developed and realistic, and add a touch of homey amusement to the story. It made the romance that much sweeter because it felt possible.
Gwyn’s situation was realistic and believable, and while meeting a hunky movie star isn’t very believable, it is the stuff of dreams, and romance stories. I really loved everything about this book and it made a great fantasy getaway as my weekend read.

Not only did I enjoy the story .... which made me giggle .... and also shed a tear.
The book was also perfectly edited. I wasn't aware of one mis-spelt word, or typing error.
There are children in this book, and for a change they are believable, which for me increased my enjoyment of the story. For a change I wasn't muttering ' as if ' to myself.
I hope this author doesn't stop at this book and treats us to more romances.
I'm keeping an eye out of her next release. I hope I won't have to wait too long.
