The Gynae Geek Paperback – March 7, 2019
Enhance your purchase
Information is everywhere and yet many women still don’t truly understand how our bodies work and specifically, how our lower genital tract works. Dr Anita Mitra, AKA The Gynae Geek, believes that we can only be empowered about our health when we have accurate information. This book will be that source.
This book takes you from your first period to the onset of menopause and explains everything along the way. From straightforward information about whether the pill is safe, which diet is best for PCOS, what an abnormal smear actually means, if heavy periods are a sign of cancer, right through to extraordinary tales from the Clinic. This straight to the heart, sharp shooting guide will become the go-to reference book for all young women seeking answers about reproductive health as well as a way to dispel the swathe of misinformation that’s out there.
Dr Anita Mitra shares her personal experiences with stress and anxiety and her learnings about how the gynaecological health of women can be influenced by lifestyle choices.

Got a bit bored in the middle so I suggest read a chapter that relates to you otherwise a lot of reference on pregnancy. I enjoyed it and would still recommend it to all women as we should know our body better than anyone! And Dr Anita does stipulate this notion throughout. We should absolutely invest in our body and take care of ourselves instead of depending on medicine to do all the work!
Good read and glad it's available for everyone! Some embarrassing questions answered and all the information is summarised well!
This is a great first offering from Dr Mitra who explains the science behind the reality in an accessible and jargon-free way. After reading this book, you are left amazed at how little you knew previously and wanting to learn more.
I have encouraged my friends and relatives to read this book and pass it on, to spread the knowledge and awareness of this too-infrequently talked about topic.
I can't wait to find out if there are other books in the pipeline for Dr Mitra as it would be great to have a series of similarly accessible and fun books directed at the younger age groups.
