It's got everything --- nail biting auditions in the heat of a New York summer, rehearsals that force the choreography of a hit musical into dancer muscles, eight shows a week, and life on the road. These characters and the world they live in for a year are fleshed out to perfection with Fournier's onion-peeling revelations. We follow two of the dancer gypsies as they live, love, and lust along the way. Yes, there is lust --- sex with beautiful dancer bodies that can do everything!
The timing of this book couldn't be better. Erotica like Lady Chatterley's Love and Fear of Flying is back, and Gypsy Nights leads the way. A study was done on the type of book people like to read on their Kindles when other people can't see the cover, and they found that 40 percent of new romance novels are bought in digital form. Duh! And if no one can see what it is you're salivating over, the lustier the better! Kindle has a lending library that is about 80 percent romance and erotica, and I foresee Gypsy Nights getting record checkouts.
This is a slip-under-the-covers-and-get-comfy kind of book full of guilty pleasures. I give it twelve stars on a scale of ten.
Christine Fournier's style of writing is sassy and witty. The author draws on her own experiences in her writing which makes the reading all the more fascinating. The descriptive characters and details in this book let the imagination go wild as you dive deep into a world of erotica, scandal and lust! Although the book is based on broadway perfomers you need not be a performer or have an interest in the arts to appreciate this well written book...this one is a must read!!!
The cast of gypsy nights is full of spontaneous, throw caution to the wind, hike up your skirts and dive in kind of players. They never hold back their talent, love, fire, sensuality or lust for life............and each other.
This book takes you on the bus, the train, the streets and the backstage of theatres across the country during one of the most tenuous & liberating movements of the 20th century and it does it with amazing sex appeal. The styles, feel, history, and pulse of the 60's beats a drum through the entire book. The tempo has that same......"5, 6, 7, 8"...speed and spirit.
This read is perfect for lying in the sun or hiding under the covers!!
