Angela Simmons these questions are becoming rather complex. Angela
comes to the realization that she has fallen in love with Luke
Johnston, a white man. For most the idea of finding timeless love is
euphoric, but in Angela’s case this implausibly brings a level of
stress to her life that she has never yet encountered. Luke is that
ideal man that a woman can’t help but fall for. He treats her like she
wants to be treated and is attentive to her love language. You would
think that a woman finding a man that is willing to love her
unconditionally is a beautiful thing…right?
If only it was that simple for Angela. Luke’s skin color seems to be a major barrier to that
happily ever after that Angela would love to have with him. This becomes an inner struggle with Angela for she sees a man that is willing to give her the world but neither her mother nor the world
seems to want her to receive it. The fact that her mother has a hard time giving Angela her approval due to her own personal feelings and past hurts keeps watering those seeds of doubt that remain planted in
the back of Angela’s mind. The stress of her mother’s disapproval coupled with the fact that racism and bigotry continue to be alive and well leaves Angela second guessing whether being with Luke will ever
work. Will Angela allow for external factors to dictate who she loves or will she say forget what everyone else thinks and go after what’s in her heart? An ex-boyfriend that she continues to try to get out of her system, a mother that is stuck in her ways, and a society that has its own feelings about who should love who has Angela fearfully in love. Can Angela Simmons escape hear fears as she run into the arms of Luke Johnston?
Her mother’s choice of a man, Craig Davenport, doesn’t quite seem to be the right choice for Angela. Craig is an arrogant self-centered individual that fails to realize that he is about to miss out on a good thing. Angela tolerates Craig’s unattractive personality, that is until Luke Johnston comes into her life. Once Angela gets to know Luke she begins to feel that he could be the one, but there is one problem…Luke is white. Angela’s mother is not trying to have her daughter dating a white man.
The irony of it all? Angela’s maternal grandfather is white. Luke could be just what the doctor ordered for Angela’s heart. But will Angela’s mother’s discord for the white blood flowing through her veins be the death of Angela’s and Luke’s budding relationship before it even blooms?
since he has been in more of them, over the years, than he can count. Always the groomsman,
never the groom, Thaddeus has no problem being invited to a wedding or even being in one; but
he feels haunted by the fact that he has yet to stroll down the matrimonial aisle in a wedding of
his own. A great guy by anyone’s standards, Thaddeus has to reconcile that he remains single
due to circumstances which have caused him to be a bit reluctant to fall in love.
Tiffany Waters, his first love and the mother of his child, is a constant thorn in Thaddeus’ side.
Her need to control him, and every aspect of his relationship with their daughter, has reared its
ugly head as the main culprit in making him apprehensive when it comes to relationships with
women in general. Once bitten and twice shy in matters of the heart, Thaddeus tries to focus on
reaching his goals in life, while constantly juggling issues concerning love, baby mama drama, a
dead-end job, and other stressors in life.
A damaged perception of relationships has Thaddeus all but ready to give up on any idea of
finding a wife…that is until Vanessa comes along. Beautiful, witty, and down to earth, Vanessa
turns out to be the perfect match for Thaddeus; but is it too late for him to separate himself from
his past issues with women long enough to cultivate a relationship with Vanessa? Can love
conquer all, or will his past break the heart of his future?
The Desires Of His Heart is an engrossing story of one man’s desire to move past his trust issues
and insecurities in order to give love a chance.
An intelligent woman who graduated from a prestigious university, April has bigger aspirations for her life other than just being a stripper. Even her stage name, Aaries the Ecdysiast, indicates that she is not the ordinary run-of-the-mill stripper. She has made a name for herself, and many consider her to be the best in the business at what she does. Despite her success at having her life well financed by the adult entertainment industry, April finds herself wanting so much more.
Hellbent on working to end her days of stripping, April wants to escape the curse she feels being born into her family has placed on her. Recognizing that she is too smart to continue to allow her body to dictate her future, April has aspirations of being a Boss instead of being a pawn in the game. Shaking her ass for a living affords her a comfortable living; but for April, life is about more than just money. She becomes focused on escaping generational curses and proving to the world that she is more than just a stripper delivering jaw-dropping performances for dead presidents; she is an entrepreneur in charge of her own destiny.
Will the devil’s occupation maintain a permanent grip on April, or will Ecdysiast be able to fulfill the mission she has planned for her life?
Her Heart His Soul completes the trilogy, by H. M. Trey, of Window to the Soul of a Man and She Will Be Loved. Through the eyes of Deisyre Moore and Trevor Alexander, the quest to obtain happily ever after continues to unfold. There is no doubt that Deisyre and Trevor love one another. On paper, the two have it all thought out on how they want their lives to look as they travel the journey toward becoming Mr. and Mrs.
While the two make plans to unite as one, the devil is busy trying to rock their foundation at its core. During every stage to move forward as a couple, Deisyre and Trevor’s love and commitment continue to be contested by an ex-girlfriend who believes that she still has a chance with Trevor, and an ex-boyfriend who is hellbent on destroying not only Deisyre’s life, but Trevor’s life as well. Trevor has to literally “strap” up his boots to become a protector for his family; all while tending to his own mental and emotional wellbeing. Deisyre has to let go of her fears, and learn to trust her man despite her past issues with trust.
Will the heart of Deisyre, and the soul of Trevor, be enough to ensure that their relationship withstands the drama forced in their lives by a delusional ex-girlfriend and a cold-blooded, dangerous ex-boyfriend? The answer to that question ultimately lies in the strength contained in the heart of a woman, and buried in the soul of a man.
You would think that a woman finding a man that is willing to love her unconditionally is a beautiful thing…right? If only it was that simple for Angela. Luke’s skin color seems to be a major barrier to that happily ever after that Angela would love to have with him. This becomes an inner struggle with Angela for she sees a man that is willing to give her the world but neither her mother nor the world seems to want her to receive it. The decision to pass on having a relationship affected by outside factors would typically be an easy one but there is one thing Angela didn’t count on…being shot with Cupid’s love arrows.
Falling in love with a white man was never something that ever crossed Angela’s mind but as we know love is often blind…sometimes you just can’t help who you fall in love with. Short on dull-moments, Angela finds that life has her on a roller coaster ride that she didn’t ask to be on. She loves Luke, but will the unwanted stress cause her to pull the plug on her relationship despite the fact that she falls in love with Luke? Or…will love conquer all and make the stresses just stepping stones towards Angela and Luke erasing the color lines that external factors have placed on their love?
