Blog postWhen I was a young girl, I liked looking through the Disney DVD magazine sent in the mail, and there was a section dedicated to Studio Ghibli, which Disney had acquired the rights to sell. And none of the movies there intrigued me more than this one.
First, it was PG-13 for violence and gore which SHOCKED me because at that time I couldn’t imagine an animated movie being violent or intended for adults. Second, I was fascinated that despite having a title about a Princess, the main ch4 months ago Read more -

TELLIE
If there was one thing elves practiced above beauty, it was comfort, and fortunately, they excelled at both.
In her first few months in her new home, Tellie had been surprised to learn that Aselvians did not spend their days stiff and regal as portrait paintings. No, elves lived a long time, and as such, they learned how to live well. That meant they took all the time they needed to craft things with both elegance and practicality.

Blog postAh, a much-delayed sequel to my top-ten heroes post...because I never planned on making one, because I couldn't come up with ten top heroines.
"WHAT?!!" you say.
I know, I know. I could have made a list of heroines I enjoyed, found cute, thought were cool...but to me what truly makes a great heroine and a great hero is a person who is an EXAMPLE of somebody I want to be. Not just somebody I relate to or think is cute (though those are great qualities that usually con1 year ago Read more -

Blog postAlísa is the daughter of a slayer chief, born into war against the evil of the dragons. Her speech
impediment stole her confidence, and her empathic connection to dragons stole the respect of
her clan. But when her growing psychic connection reveals one dragon’s capacity for good, she
must choose: stay with her family in comfortable but condemning silence, or follow the dragon
claiming to know her true purpose.

Blog postSo recently I just started thinking about the really GREAT hugs that we've seen on screen. Generally, kisses are talked about more, but HUGS are severely underrated. For one thing, they apply to many relationships besides romance. And they are just the most comforting, satisfying finale.
So I shall begin with the hug I just recently witnessed while watching the FF7 remake, and from there I shall list some of my other favorites in no particular order.

Blog postHave you seen the cover for my upcoming release yet? If not, take a look! It is a beauty!
I always knew I wanted a beautiful, character-based cover for this story. And for a long time, I was determined I would be the artist to create it. I went through several versions all strongly featuring Tellie, my other main character, a young orphan girl (some of you might remember those cover concepts).
But recently I decided that was appealing to the wrong audience for the overall seri3 years ago Read more -
Blog postGosh! When is the last time I stayed up late to read a book? I can't even remember.
Fantasy Romance is not my typical go-to genre as I generally find it full of uncomfortable hormones making poor decisions or sweet and clean but really boring. But every once in a while I find a gem in this niche and FIERCE HEART is such a gem!
First off, ELVEEEEEESSSSS. I'm really picky about how elves are handled in books. I love Tolkien's elves, and I generally find other elves in fantasy fa3 years ago Read more -
Blog postIn a word? Stunning.
From the very beginning, it is crystal clear that the reader is in for a unique story. Its storytelling style is quite unlike anything I’ve read. I appreciated the “historical fragments” in between chapters that kept the reader on track rather being lost in the heroine’s confusions. I am usually frustrated when our main pov believes a bunch of lies, but it was well executed here.
The magic is also...vibrant and creative. Some of the most exquisite and fero3 years ago Read more -
Blog postWhat’s this!? A previously unknown clean YA Fantasy series with a really fascinating faerie world and GORGEOUS covers? I’m so excited!
This is a world where humanity is misusing and draining magic—where fairy nectar is used as drugs, where unicorns age in stables, where merfolk are kept in chains.

Blog postI have a lovely guest with me today, none other than the debut fairy-tale author, HANNA SANDVIG! If you haven't had a chance to see her beautiful book, then behold.
Isn't that cover gorgeous? Even more amazing, she did it herself. YES, she is ALSO an artist and has a book cover business, so check out the links to her sites at the end of this post. Romanov...Romanov...Romanov....
I’ve heard the name from friend after friend, the recommendations unending. And so I finally obeyed the chant, and read this book for myself.
To be honest, I had reservations. I desperately wanted to like it, but I also knew the true history of the Romanov family broke my heart and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to handle a book about their deaths and an explanation on how some didn’t die even though current evidence is strongly to3 years ago Read more -
Blog postAll Isobel wants is a quiet place to read, but apparently that's too much to ask. She only needs to make it through one last summer with her broken family before she can leave for university and get on with her life. At least she has her books and the solitude of the woods.
But there are wolves in these woods.
Caught out in the forest after dark, Isobel is pursued by a disturbingly intelligent pack of wolves. When the grizzly bear who rescues her turns out to be a cursed fae3 years ago Read more -
Blog postMY REVIEW!
I devoured Mark of the Raven in a day, so of course I was on pins and needles for the next book! Flight of the Raven picks up exactly where the first book ended and sets us forth on a quest of self-discovery.
It was really beautiful to see Selene open her guarded heart to the possibilities of happiness and hope she thought was completely barred from her. As she and Damien carefully explored their new and unexpected relationship, I both cheered and cringed because th3 years ago Read more
Titles By H. S.J. Williams
PRINCE. PRODIGAL. PIRATE.
What kind of elf would cut his hair, wear a beard, and break all ties to the luxuries he was given by birth?
For years, Captain Coren has sailed the seas and ventured across foreign lands. Hated by the corrupt, hero to the unfortunate, and…misunderstood by his own family.
After the rescue of the crown prince, Leoren, steward of Aselvia, is forced to reconsider all his concerns about his wandering son and discover the story he’s never had the courage to hear. A story of raiding ships, surviving plagues, and rescuing slaves. A story of how one man’s unconventional life changed the course of thousands.
This is a companion novella to MOONSCRIPT. Reading MOONSCRIPT first is recommended.

"It is said that Darkness is empty and whatever vanishes into its depths is lost forever. I know this better than anyone. For I have suffered here in the shadows, and there are none who might find me.”
Seventy years. Seventy years the elven prince has been lost to the darkness, assumed dead by his people and endlessly broken for a book that connects to the hidden realm of his ancestors, a land untouched by evil.
And now a light in the shadows. A chance for freedom. But those willing to help him come from the unlikeliest of worlds.
The orphan girl, yearning for a loving family, and the boy who won’t leave her side. A healer maiden given an unexpected chance for a life beyond narrowed expectations. A grieving creature flown far from home.
They all search for something and now their fates are tied to his.If their quest for life can pull him from the dark mire in which his soul drowns, then perhaps he can be saved.
Or else he will drag them all down to a fate worse than death.
The beginning of an epic saga, MOONSCRIPT is a journey of innocence, despair, and redemption.
