First, this thing is big and heavy, be prepared to have 2 people available to remove it from box and put it on table. Second, setup was easy on Ethernet, all PCs in the house recognized it. Quality depends on document, text is good, however photos are terrible so if you plan to print photos you will be disappointed. Lastly the toner is excessively expensive. A full set of 4 will set you back around $400-$500 - $100-$200 more than the cost of the printer. There are now 3rd party selling sets of toner for around $110 for 4 carts, finally.
Update 9 months later:This printer worked fine for about 5 months, then about 2 months ago it began having 2 problems, one said a fuser error, had to turn it off and back on , this happens about every 10 or 15 prints. The second problem says some kind of error - requires holding the power button down for several seconds then the printer resets and works ok for a week or so then happens again. Usually both problems happens after starting a print or in the middle of a job which is lost and must be started again.
I have called Dell Customer Service several times and they have been NO HELP. The common answer is "It's a computer problem, contact the manufacturer", or "Remove and re-install the print driver." Which I have done a few times and the problems return. Another "representative" wanted to sell me a utility for $99 to fix the problem! Unacceptable - it has several months left on the warranty, so I cannot recommend this printer or Dell at all.
Updated 10-16-17 - over 1 & a half years later, the error message still happens, since Dell was no help I just live with it. It still does a good job on text and regular color like screen grabs, will not print properly on glossy so portrait prints are out, even on matt paper. 3rd party toner is now quite reasonable, the last cartridges I bought from Amazon were about $18 each.
