I was really disappointed upon receiving these Haflinger Snowbird slippers by seller Outland USA. Paying $150 and hearing great things about Haflinger I expected a quality and pristine pair of shoes/slippers to arrive. Not the case. The box was a bit beat up and shoes sort of thrown in the box with the paper all disheveled. I don’t love receiving a return when I pay this much money for an item but I would be and have been fine with it under most circumstances, but these slippers looked used with a lot of scuffing of the suede and they are definitely defective with the sole area at the toes not attached well and multiple areas of crusted glue where the sole was glued on. Very disappointed and have not received an item like this in the past from Amazon.
About the actual shoe: I was also disappointed that the interior is NOT ALL shearling, just the interior’s sides and top, not the sole. Which I find very odd as usually that’s the primary area shearling is. The sole is actually wool and EXTREMELY hard, without much arch support considering the claim. The hardness would be intolerable for me after more than 5 minutes. The heel is actually raised rather being anatomically correct. It makes me question the authenticity of this item. I don’t have anything to compare it to at the moment to say for sure. If I decide to purchase another pair I will update this review. It will not be bought from amazon though.

The little tag stuck so far up in the toe of the shoe gives the company name, city and country -Germany. However, turn the tag over and it says “Made in China…Upper Leather - China; Lining: Genuine Sheepskin Dyed - China; Outsole - Rubber- Germany. The rubber on the shoe bottom is from Germany, that is all. I just paid $130+ for a pair of house shoes made in China. However, they are comfortable and warm, and here so I will keep them, but I certainly feel cheated. I would not have bought them if I had known they were made in China. The description only says “imported” and talks of the German Company. It is misleading. And the little tag bearing the truth is all but hidden, only to be seen by someone with small fingers and a flashlight. A magnifying glass would also be helpful. Shame on you Halflinger. You misled me into thinking I was buying a fine German product - so very deceitful…and you tried to hid it. Shame..

My feet measure at UK8.5/9 but I find the Haflinger UK8/EU42 a good fit, so you may wish to size down slightly.
The Haflinger felt style slippers can actually be a bit loose so I tend to wear that style with socks; however, these sheepskin lined slippers fit snugly with bare feet and are super warm. The back is very low making them easy to slip on and off; however, they stay in place well so I never feel I am going to slip off or out of them.
The Halflinger slippers have a generous toe box allowing your feet to relax and the inner sole is structured to provide excellent arch support. It took my feet a while to get accustomed to this but I now find it really comfortable. I have worn similar sheepskin lined mule slippers by other well known brands such as EMU in the past; however, I find those very flat and these are much more supported, refined and comfortable.
They have a very solid non-slip sole, so you could definitely pop out into the garden terrace on a dry day.
They are made really well and both feel and look like a quality product.
I wish it was easier to get these slippers in the UK in all sizes as I have friends queuing up for them but I can't find a UK6 easily.
I don't often leave reviews but thought I must share the love on these!
