Handle With Care is the story of Sofia. She had leukemia as a child and her family has definitely treated her with kid gloves and worried about her endlessly. She's tired of it. She has used yoga to help her through hard times and is now a yoga instructor. Sofia is brought in to teach yoga to the local football team. First she has to convince Max, the coach, that they can benefit from it. Some pretty hilarious lessons for Max follow. He is really attracted to Sofia, but she takes her time warming up to him.
My favorite part of the book was when Max basically has to run the gauntlet of her family. She also has to survive a dinner with his mother and all his brothers--the brothers who had offended her previously. You've got to love family! This is a great read about family, love and surviving difficult times.
Sofia has learned to enjoy the simple things in her life since she survived having Leukemia as a teenager. Now owning and running her Yoga studio, spending time with her family and friends were the things that she thought were important in her life. She hasn't had a serious relationship in years and has found it difficult to trust anyone after her boyfriend dumping her when she was sick and needed him the most.
Max didn't want to believe that Sofia and Yoga could be anything that he and his high school athletes needed to improve on their sport, but soon Max was a believer. Something about Sofia and her life attracted Max more than he was willing to admit in the beginning, but he soon can't deny his feelings.
I'm definitely looking forward to reading the other books in this series and getting to know more about the Ludzecky family.
I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
