Note: Make sure your additional vehicle information under the 'Software' tab details says it is CCS enabled before purchasing it. My 2022 model Y is enabled, however, I was unable to place an order through the Tesla shop since it kept saying 'No enabled cars on your account, probably because they don't have it in stock for mass delivery. Hence, I decided to try this after checking a few youtube reviews.
My 2 cents are below:
Pros:
- These worked great with non-Tesla Level3 chargers ( I tried at Electrify America station) and was able to get speed up to 92KW.
- It has multiple safety standards including overheating protection and during my test, it did not heat at all. Other safety are over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, over-load protections
- Fits well in my 2022 model Y & in fact looks exactly the same as Tesla's CCS1 adapters
- It is a must adapter for that extra relief during road trips & the go charging even when Tesla's superchargers are not on the way of the trip
- Build quality is great and feels very durable
- Compatible with any Tesla model with CCS enabled from the factory
- Comes well-packed in a nice box giving a sense of confidence
Cons:
- These are almost the same price ($15 less) than Tesla's CCS1 adapter, and in my opinion, Tesla owners would prefer the one that Tesla sells if they can get their hands on it instead of going for a 3rd party product. My suggestion would be to have a marginal difference from Tesla's one
- Surprised to see that no manual or specification/instructions leaflet was included in the box

My wife got her model Y delivered finally and hence CCS1 adapter was on the top bucket list to have in the car for urgent level3 DC charging from non-Tesla providers. Even though Tesla has the best charging network in the US, it is still a good idea to have backup adapters, especially during long road trips. This CCS adapter will allow you to charge your Tesla at non-Tesla fast charging stations such as Electrify America. Using it is simple: Just plug the CCS plug into this adapter, and then plug the adapter into your car as usual. It includes a nice storage bag so you can toss it in your trunk when not in use.
My car is a 2023 Model Y Performance with CCS enabled. Make sure you verify that your car has CCS enabled before buying this adapter. You can view the CCS status from the screen in your car under Software and Additional Information.
I tested this adapter at two different Electrify America charging locations. At each location I also charged with the official Tesla CCS adapter, and at both locations my charging speeds were the same whether I was using this adapter or the official one.
Note that I could not get anywhere near the highest speeds that the chargers are capable of using either adapter, so that part is likely a function of the car not pre-conditioning the battery on the way to non-Tesla chargers the way it does when you navigate to a Supercharger station.
Since this is just slightly less expensive than the official Tesla one you may want to just go with the Tesla one to ensure no issues down the road… but if you want to get CCS charging at a discount then this one will work just as well from my experience. Tesla’s official adapter also does not come with a storage bag but this one does.

I tested it on a CCS Charger close to home and it seemed to work well, so I am confident that it can be of use in the future.
My initial concerns about weight pulling down on the socket in the Tesla were laid to rest, everything seems to work well.
Photo attached showing the CCS plug plugged through this adaptor. I was at a 50kW charger here.
If you are at Disney Springs in Florida, there are some Chargepoint CCS chargers there so you can have fun and charge at the same time :-)
