As another reviewer said, the story idea was appealing but the completely incoherent punctuation, the constant random switching of tense within paragraphs and often within a single sentence, and the general misuse of words made it too difficult to get through. I don't say this to be pedantic; an informal style is fine -- it's simply that having to read so many sentences more than once to even figure out what was meant was just too distracting from what might have been an entertaining storyline. You see this way too often in self-published Kindle books. Writers, please, please have someone with experience copy edit your work, and be solid with basic grammar and punctuation to start with. For these two particular writers, please learn the difference between "to" and "too." "Have too," "related too," "want too," etc., might be a typo if it happens once. When it happens six times in the first third of the book, it seems more like you should review third-grade English.

The premise was promising, but the lack of editing was excruciating. Just a few choices from the first few pages: "cognitive sentence" when one can assume the author meant "coherent sentence" instead (because the former makes no sense). Further on, "for all intent and purpose", which is NOT the correct phrase (both should be plurals). The strings of phrases used to describe something that should all be hyphenated...I could go on.

The storyline itself had promise, but I really couldn't get warmed up to the characters, and I really didn't find them believable. Perhaps I could have given it more effort, but I couldn't take any more of the poor writing and lack of editing.

I just could not get past the HORRIBLE grammar in this book. The misspellings, wrong phrases and missing words really distracted me from the story. I also could not get past the jumping from story to the authoress "talking to you" to use your own imagination to finish the story. THAT is why I read...to entertain my imagination. If I needed to make it up in my head, I would either not read or write my own novel. The worst part, it took me so long to read this book during a month of travel that I surpassed the 7 day return policy....at least it was only .99 (the only positive). I really do hate to leave negative comments, but I just couldn't let another person be disappointed.

The editing was horrendous. I found myself re-reading sentences to figure out which word was missing in order for it to make sense. Tenses changed from sentence to sentence, basic punctuation was missing or incorrect and the author actually got "to" and "too" mixed up! Sentences and paragraphs ran on for days and days. I mean for a published book that people pay money to read, the author ought to be ashamed of herself.
On the flip side...it was a cute story. I would love to see it re-released after being edited so it doesn't look like a 4th grader wrote it. I did like the characters and the story line and appreciated some of the humor. There were some redeeming qualities to this book, I just felt insulted by the lack of editing.

I gave up on this one after about a chapter and a half. The story sounded promising, lighthearted and funny, but the grammar was so horrific that I just couldn't continue. I'm not trying to be a snob. I appreciate beautiful prose as much as the next avid reader, but at this bargain price I would have been perfectly happy to settle for a story that was simply coherent. Unfortunately, this is not. Sorry, I want my buck back!

This book was hilarious. There were times while I was reading that I laughed out loud startling my husband who was peacefully minding his own business. I usually try to keep a book running along gradually so I can enjoy a little reading each night before bed, but I went through this one quickly. I lost myself in the comedy. Please, someone make this into a film! I can already imagine the cast of the movie; Kristin Wiig playing Grace with her hair dyed black and Kate McKinnon to play the younger sister Clair. So if you want a nice story, with great comedy, and a little romance; pick Happily Ever Before!

This is a VERY funny book. I started it and did not put it down until I was finished reading. (tough day ahead as it was in the early A.M.) Give it a try. You will be engaged and laugh throughout. Can't wait for the second book! (hint hint)

This was a really good story. In fact, I would have given the book five stars but (unfortunately) the bad spelling, grammar and punctuation was too distracting to warrant five stars. It's rare that a book can be written with changes from first person to third person. In most cases, it's less confusing to keep the story in third person and past tense. Poor editing make a book like a road with lots of potholes. It can ruin an otherwise smooth ride (and I notice it did ruin the ride for the people who gave the book a bad review).

This said, I had more laugh-out-loud moments while reading this book than I have in a long time. It was a good story about a woman who acted as a surrogate to carry her sister's baby. There were all the usual pregnancy issues -- including peeing her pants, which is one of the scenes that had me laughing out loud. It would make a great movie.

All the characters were memorable but needed a little more physical description. The relationship between Grace and Jack was sweet and touching. The psychology behind Grace's choice in men was well developed and understandable. I loved how much Claire and Henry loved each other. The Mayonnaise Queen is a good character but she could have used a little bit more description as well. The nicknames for many of the characters kept them well defined and memorable. It's ok that the men were only two dimensional but this was a women's story and the women in the story needed more elaboration.

The characters were well developed but I thought we needed more physical descriptions. The story line and the dialogue carried the book and I believe the writers have real talent in creating a great story. All they need is good editing and more attention to the details.
