I have an old but still good monitor that needs a DVI connection and a computer that only has HDMI video and the adapter here works perfectly!

HDMI includes audio while a Digital VIdeo Interface is meant only for video so you need a secondary audio connection but that's through no fault of the adapter.

I don't know anything about the technical griping in some of the other reviews but the item listed here is Exactly as shown in the picture and works Exactly as described. Compared to what others are charging for similar items this "adapter" is an excellent deal and surprisingly a very good quality product.

One thing to keep in mind is that this adapter plus your DVI plug when plugged in is substantial. When I plug the combination into my computers HDMI slot I put something underneath to support it so it wont pull out or tweak the socket. This is not a negative for the adapte, it's just something to be aware of when you plug it in.

This item is Exactly as described and an Excellent deal and I highly recommend it!

Please note that this connector is an HDMI to DVI-D adapter. The image on Amazon shows an HDMI to DVI-I adapter which is what I was expecting. The quality of the adapter is fine, but it was not what I wanted or needed. The shipper BargainCell was fast at delivery and it arrived before the expected delivery window.

The product I received was a HDMI to DVI-I adapter, not HDMI to DVI-D as shown in the picture! I have to order a new one!

First, the package arrived with no receipt to figure out who, when and where this product was ordered. Second, the package had a 7.1 channel sound USB card instead of the HDMI adapter. The only key that can help you figure out is the "gamesalor(dot)com" on the package. I then wrote an email by figuring out their contact id to find out if i ordered this product or if it was mis-delivered. After a chain of emails, i was told that it's the HDMI adapter that i ordered. I then told that i got a 7.1 channel sound USB card instead of the HDMI adapter. The person on the other side asked to take a pic of the USB and email to confirm that i am not lying. WTH! So much for a $2 product !

I purchased this to convert an HDMI/DVI cable into an HDMI/HDMI cable for use on a small TV and it works just fine. Based on the envelope I received this in, the product is shipped directly from China, and in my case took only 11 days to arrive. The delay is a small price to pay considering the very low price of the adapter. I highly recommend this as a solution if you need to convert DVI to HDMI as I did.

I started teaching a class in a classroom with only DVI connectors and my laptop only has HDMI. Not a good thing to discover right before class starts. I use it to connect my LED monitor to my MacBook Pro. Works perfectly well on Windows 7 and Mac OS X Lion. And it's cheap!

EDIT: I recently noticed some RED pixels pop on my screen when I watch video or play games. So I thought that either my Thunderbolt connection is having issues with the adapter, or a windows driver or something else. Switching to VGA cable and not using the adapter fixed my issue. So I ended up buying a mini-HDMI adapter and got rid of this one.

I used this with my Raspberry Pi B model. I have a monitor with built in usb ports and built in speakers. I hooked this up via a Dvi cable and use the monitor itself to power the pi. The monitor immediately picked up the signal correctly and everything is working great, my media center is now complete! :D I highly recommend this, its cheap, and it works, the wait was a few weeks, but for a couple bucks, you just can't beat it bud!
