Praise for H.E.A.R.
"A clever integration of psychological references, teenage angst, and a good old-fashioned whodunit... The flawed characters, unlikely alliances, and fast plot twists makes this volume a page-turner."
—School Library Journal
“This action-packed thriller about beautiful psychic teenagers and how emotions change our ability to ‘see’ is a dazzling and affecting page-turner. Epstein’s writing is smart, funny and truly sensational.”
—New York Times bestselling author Gary Shteyngart
"Epstein's H.E.A.R., about a smart crew of teens with an intuitive gift, is fast, dangerous, funny, and oddly real. What a great read! I loved it."
—Geoff Herbach, bestselling author of Stupid Fast and I’m With Stupid
“As someone who has always fantasized about what it might be like to read minds or predict the future, I devoured every page.”
—Zoe Aarsen, author of Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board

When the author, Epstein, stumbled on the story of reputable universities funding research into ESP (in the real world), she saw the setting for a great young adult novel; she was right. A team of gifted teens are brought together by an enigmatic professor to explore their powers of prediction, but encounter other forces well beyond their control.
I shouldn't give too much away - just read it! I loved it, and would highly recommend whether or not you're a 'young adult' (I'm not). Looking forward to the next one!
An expert balance of humor and realistically-scary plot distinguishes H.E.A.R. from the ever-growing stable of supernatural YA novels while her witty voice makes H.E.A.R. a joy to readers of any age. I expected a lot of teen romance but what I didn't expect was how cleverly she subverts and infuses her romantic elements so that they aid the story instead of bogging it down. She takes a lot of risks to make her sci-fi mystery as realistic as possible but she certainly pulls it off. H.E.A.R. hooks you fast and jostles you hard with each twist. I read a lot of detective thrillers and if I was compelled to keep turning the page, you will be too. The only real problem I have with the book is that I finished it too quickly and now I have to sit here and wait quietly for the next one :(
