I was unhappy about the amount the dealer offered her for the trade for her old car, and thought that I could do a lot better selling it myself on her behalf.
Using the techniques recommended in this book, I sold my mom's car on Craigslist in less than 24 hours, and got $2,000 more than what the dealer had offered as a trade in. I'd say it was the best $16 I've ever spent on a book!
The car sold so fast that there wasn't even time for an ad that I bought to appear in the newspaper.
Specifically, I used the author's advice to "tell the story of the car," and then followed up by taking the exact series of different photos recommended in the book. For Craigslist, he recommends that you use 4 specific photos out of the series, so I used those. Then I linked to a photobucket account with all the rest of the photos for people who were interested in seeing more.
I didn't even have time to create the YouTube demo video that he also recommends when selling this car.
And that wasn't the first car I've sold with help from the book.
Six months ago, I used it to sell my wife's car. That car sold in about a week, and the YouTube video that I shot (using his exact techniques) played a large role in getting a guy to drive almost 6 hours to come buy the car. It's unlikely that the buyer would have had the confidence in the car being in the same condition I described without seeing it himself in the video in advance. Although we got the call on this car based on an ad in the paper, it was once again the online techniques that closed the deal.
This book is a terrific, useful tool that will make money for you if you use the techniques. There's nothing hard about it, but it was filled with information that I wouldn't have known if I had just tried to sell the car myself without reading his advice first. This book is the real deal!
