Awesome drive. Fast and quiet. Xbox One couldn't detect it until I replaced the cable.

Awesome drive for the Xbox One. Very fast and quiet. Great price for a 1tb 7200rpm drive. Also when you set your Xbox One to power saving the drive turns off when the Xbox One does. If your Xbox one is set to instant on, it remains on when you power down the Xbox One. I really like the fact that you don't need an additional power source for the drive. I did have one issue with it when I connected it to my Xbox One with the included usb 3.0 cable. The Xbox one would not detect the drive. My computer and other devices would detect it, but not the Xbox One. I called HGST and Microsoft tech support and neither one could help. I read on forums where other people had the same issues, with no luck in finding a solution. So I replaced the cable with an Aptiva usb 3.0 cable and it was immediately detected by my Xbox One. The cable that ships with this drive is very short and the quality isn't as good as the one I purchased. For some reason the Xbox One just does not like the included cable. Just thought I would pass this on to those of you that might have the same issue. If you call HGST they will send you a free replacement. The Manufacturers warranty on this drive is for two years

Died. Replacement took 3 weeks to ship. 5 weeks if you count shipping. Wow!

Using it on an Xbox One, with zero complaints. I had zero issues with the cord that came with it, as earlier reviewers noted. They must have improved it.

Update: Well, this thing died a few months after i got it. I took my time to replace it, as i dont play the xbox that often. Anyway, one day it just starts making this clicking noise and doesnt respond to xbox or any computer, with multiple cords tried. So i got this shipped to me in Amazon with just the packaging in the box. I go to HGST support and they want two inches of solid foam on each side (no peanuts), when you ship. Ok. So spend the money on that and shipping back to them. Just $20 combined, no biggie i guess. Well from the time that they receive the Hard Drive, until the time they ship a replacement, 21 friggin days! Really?! Anyway, i'll update again if the replacement takes a dive too.

Kidding me? Backup was over MUCH sooner than ever before, including a recently purchased Toshiba USB3
+ recent studies say HGST drives last longest, least likely to fail within 4 years.

Packed well protected, arrived pronto, came with cord easily attaches at both ends (some ext HD cords come permanently attached @ drive - ugh).
Some may not like the super short cord = less than 17" but I made location work for me
