I bought this coffee scoop to be able to measure the same amount of coffee for every cup. I experimented with amounts until I got the taste I wanted and now I have a perfect cup of coffee every time. It feels good in the hand and rinses out clean.

Contrary to the description provided by the vendor, this scoop holds only 3/4 as much as a standard two-tablespoon coffee measure. So, if you are accustomed to using a standard coffee measure, you will have to adjust the number of scoops of ground coffee that you use. Initially, this irritated the heck out of me. But now that I have calculated the number of scoops I need to use with this new scoop, it's not really much of a problem, and I do like the shape, the long handle, and the beautiful way the metal is formed to make this scoop. It makes it easy to dig into a bag of ground coffee that is nearly empty, and in general it is a pleasure to use. But be forewarned that you will have to use four of these scoops to equal three scoops using a standard coffee measure.

I purchased this to adequately measure my coffee while maintaining the ability to reach the bottom of our coffee containers. We purchase the large Folgers regular coffee from Sams Club and needed a spoon with a long handle to reach the bottom of the container. This worked great for that purpose and it is easy to clean and does not stain or hold coffee grounds due to the stainless steel.
Con: The only thing we didn't like about the measuring spoon is that it was much larger than a tablespoon. The first time we used it I noticed our coffee was really strong. I used two separate measuring devices in the house and confirmed that this holds much more than just a tablespoon of coffee. To compensate we now use 4 tablespoons of coffee to make a 10 cup pot vs our usual 5 tablespoons we used in the past. This works well.
Overall, the spoon's long handle and stainless steel material make it well worth the purchase.

I use this to make Vietnamese Coffee in Metal Phin Filters. If I level out the top with the back edge of another spoon, it is just the right amount of espresso to allow proper flow. Of course, making coffee this way always varies a bit and need tinkering, more of an art than science perhaps. This spoon really helps get the measure right though. Still as shiny as the day it was new.
