Cheap and easy replacement for aftermarket power door lock conversions. After 6 years my initial actuators wore out and I got one of these to replace it. Works perfect, easy to install with the included bracket. Only downside is that the wires were shorter than my original so I had to splice in some extra wire to hook it up. Not a big problem but longer wires would have been nicer. Also make sure you wire them the right way, otherwise you will be unlocking your door when you think you are locking it. With only two wires, you have a 50% chance of guessing right the first time.

I now need to replace the other door's actuator 6 months later, should have just ordered two at the same time.

Anyone with a little mechanical ability should be able to handle installation of this product. You can use the internet to find out how to remove the door panels on your particular vehicle, which can be more complicated than installing the new door locks. Position the door lock against the door where it will reach the wiring and have a strait pull/push of the door lock rod. You can use the brackets included over any opening that interfers with your positioning. Once positioned mark pilot holes and drill, do this on the outside of panel towards you to aid in percision placement of pilot holes. Now you can position the lock mechanism inside the door cavity and install with screws. Your original locks may have four wires only cut the two wires that supply 12 volts of power when the door lock switch is pressed up or down, the other two are left as they are sometimes connected to the door ajar indicator light. You can install the lock anywhere that it will connect to the rod that you use to lock and unlock the door manually. Mine work great!!!!!!!

I installed this actuator in the tailgate of my truck and wired it to the door locks. My tailgate now unlocks/locks with the key fob/remote. The actuator works perfectly and for the price it can't be beat.

After viewing some online instructions posted by another user, I purchased this to repair the non working one on my 2008 Silverado. The door locks on most of the GM models are defective & GM has ripped off the public charging as much as $600 per repair. Installed this part for under $7 & it works perfectly. I would highly recommend this part.

This low cost actuator performs better and is more powerful than the OEM Ford version at 10X the cost. Easy retrofit and compatible with factory Ford reverse-polarity wiring. All 4 locks on my '99 E150 were screwed up. For $25 and an afternoon project, I now have all the locks retrofitted with these and the locks work better than they ever have.

I searched the Amazon site for an exact replacement to a unit that had failed on the doors of our motorhome after 13 years. If you scan over the photos on the Amazon site for the unit that is advertised you will see that it has metal rivets in the housing to hold the parts together, a white nylon coupling in the actuator, and two imprinted "dials" at the wire end. I believe the unit in the photo is of higher build quality then the parts I actually received which has no rivets, the actuator was just black plastic, and the "dials" are not casted in. I am not sure that the throw exactly matches the original unit but I made it work. The units I received are like others advertised on Amazon that I did not select. I think the supplier should be made to update the photo on Amazon to be the unit they are actually selling.

Had them installed on both read doors (Chevy Malibu 2009 LS) - worked like a charm.
I suggest you get some extra wire and splicers (or use an iron gun if prefer); also, supplied screws are not that useful, so get 6-32 screws and nuts - say, 1.75" to attach actuators to provided mount, and .75" to 1" to attach the mounts to the door; or you can attach the actuators to the door directly.

Ordered two more for the front doors...

It works well so far (installed for almost 2 weeks) and is an excellent value. The build quality (all plastic housing) is what you would expect from the photos and is fine in my opinion. I installed this as a replacement in the driver's door on a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I was looking for a good value buy, because the original style actuators have broken a few times due to worn out plastic gearing. I can't comment yet on durability over time, but it is a more powerful push/pull than the existing actuators. The original was around 1" travel and this is about 3/4", but this proved a non-issue for me.

Like most cases, this actuator is not a drop-in OEM style fit for my vehicle. As others have stated, modifying to fit most vehicles isn't too hard. If access is tight, I do recommend removing your window track if it is in the way of the latch mechanism and lock rods. This made the replacement much easier for me. I didn't have a lot of alternate spots to mount the new actuator, so I reused the existing actuator bracket after drilling out the retaining rivet. Then, I screwed the actuator to the bracket and reattached the bracket to the door with a bolt and nut. By doing this, I was able to hookup the actuator rod to the same spot on the latch assembly as the original. However, you can use the included connector to attach to an existing lock rod if that is easier. Also, you may need to cut off the bullet terminals at the end of the actuator wires or modify your wiring harness to attach different connectors depending on your setup.
