Over the centuries, society and our institutions have conditioned us to believe that we are born in sin, and that we should live in guilt throughout our lives. In the course of time it became very difficult for a sensitive human being who had been conditioned to believe and wallow in feelings of guilt, to recognize his or her own value or worth.
This has caused widespread frustration, depression and a sense of worthlessness. Our social and religious institutions propagated the idea that we should never commit errors. They refused to believe that we are created to learn our lessons through our errors, and that errors are what contribute to our growth. These are the ‘soul lessons’ that we have come to learn in our earthly dimension.
The teachings of Jesus, which are essentially based on forgiveness, were somehow twisted to create a psyche which was laden with guilt and shame.
A Course in Miracles is a miracle by itself considering that it was channeled by the ‘atheist’ psychologist DR. Helen Schucman who is not acknowledged as the author of the book, though it was channeled by her. The book is attributed to Jesus Christ.
That Christ chose to reveal himself through an atheist is a miracle in itself. This is the inevitable proof of a non-judgmental God. The Course in Miracles portrays God as the epitome of unconditional love and forgiveness.
My intention is to present some highlights of this book to everybody, by simplifying the magnificent quotations which are an inextricable part of ‘A Course in Miracles.’
The undeniable focus of the Course is on forgiveness and so a major part of the content of this book will also deal with the aspect of forgiveness and unconditional love.
Another important aspect of this Course is to accentuate on the Ego and to differentiate between the false nature of the Ego and the divinity of the Holy Spirit. The Course discusses this in much depth, enabling us to comprehend how the Ego deludes us into believing our unworthiness in the eyes of God, and convinces us to live in despair throughout our lives.
A detailed study of this Course will reinstate belief in the unconditional love and Fathership of God to every single person on Earth.
