I got this card to replace a GForce 6200 as it wasn't powerful enough to run some of my later games. I had wanted a NVidia but couldn't find a AGP port NVidia that fit the bill. (I like NVidia a bit better as their drivers seem to be kept up to date a bit better and I like the auto update feature.) After failing to find a NVidia card that would fit and was what I was looking for, I turned to looking thru the AMD ATI cards and that's when I found this one. At first, I wasn't sure as the reviews seemed to indicate that the drivers were a bit iffy on this card, but after thinking about it, I ordered the card. After getting it in, on a Monday after ordering it on a Friday, I opened it and checked it out. The first thing I noted was PS requirements and noted that my PS was a 350 watt and it needed a 400 watt at least. Luckily, I had a 400 watt supply that I had upgraded a Dell Dimension 3000 to when I placed a NVidia GeForce 6200 card on it. After uninstalling the NVidia drivers on the Dell GX270 that I was installing the new card in, I swapped the 350 watt PS for the 400 watt and that solved the PS problem. I also found that this card needed a power feed from the PS and I had to add an extension cable to get the power to it (It took a standard molex plug on the card which solved needed an adapter too.) Then I rechecked all the connections and made sure all were plugged it right and when that was finished, I powered up the system, inserted the driver disk and installed the drivers. The only problem I had was the usual resolution change that you sometimes get when installing a new graphics card. (I like 1024x768 with large fonts which is just odd enough to cause most installation setups on new graphic cards to have fits when just being installed.) After getting the resolution and fonts set, I did a couple of reboots to see if the new card would be stable after booting up with the new resolution set up. It was solid without a problem. I then tested the new set up by running some games I had just to see. Overlord and Overlord II ran great at 1024x768 and I couldn't do that on my old 6200 card. I had a few games that wouldn't run on my old card at all well. (Venetica, The Longest Journey, and Dawn Of War: Dark Crusade) They all ran great and without any problem which sort of surprised me. I had just one real problem and that was uninstalling the NVidia's PhysX from the system. I have three OSs (Win XP, Win Vista, and Win 7 on a three part. 320 gig drive. The drivers installed on all the systems without a problem after uninstalling the old drivers. When I removed the old drivers I removed PhysX too and had to then turn around and reinstall it. I downloaded the installation file from NVidia's site and reinstalled it on all three OSs. This solved problems that I had run into with two games and from then on only one game was a bit iffy and that was one that I didn't realize wouldn't play on my system anyway when I ordered it. (It played, but so badlly that it was almost unplayable.) I have not experienced any major crashes or any other problems with this card since I got it installed and set up. This is a very good card for anyone trying to upgrade an older AGP slot computer to run some of the newer games. It won't run everything perfectly but it even did a really good job of running older games like Doom, Heretic, Hexen and it easily handled my C&C games without a problem. (I did use the Dos-Box on the Doom, etc.) It runs solid and "feels" solid when running the games and apps I use. To this point I haven't found a game that I like to play that it won't run except Terminator 2029 and the last system I had that would run that was an old 486 66DX2! I can highly recommend this card if you are trying to get a bit more life out of an older system and the price doesn't turn you off. I feel it's well worth it!

Still using this card and it's still working great. I installed the 12.6 drivers from AMD/ATI with no problems at all and that really surprised me as I have had problems before with ATI drivers. Anyway, the only concern I have now is this card doesn't seem to support OpenGL above 3.1, it does support some 3.2 features but only a few. I didn't find this out till I ran into the new DOOM 3 BFG version. This game bails out trying to load and it seems to be a OpenGL problem. Anyway, I got around this by buying the old version which runs great on this old system with this card on it. Still a good buy even if a bit high!
