Big Wig's review is pretty accurate. The shield that protects the mini card is hard to remove and replace because antenna wires from jacks get in the way. And there is no mounting screw for the card but fortunately that didn't present an issue for me. One of the antenna wires from this card could reach my mini NIC as installed on my motherboard. This allowed me to simply plug the card into a slot, attach one antenna wire to my mini NIC in place. My mini NIC only had a single antenna terminal so I'm only using one antenna on the back. Even so this thing works perfectly and I now have an excellent connection to my wireless access point.

With most hardware, the very fact that it works should be a prerequisite and should never factor into a review. However, because of the esoteric niche this card fulfills, it is to the card's credit that it fills that niche. Other than that, it is poorly designed. There seems to be no way to direct the third antenna wire through the opening of the silver plate that is meant to protect the mini-pcie and clean up the wires, so it is basically useless. No mounting screws for the mini-pcie card is another draw back, though like other people have mentioned: electrical tape is key here. The mounting plate for the pci-e card also seemed to not fit my case properly, and required some forcing and bending to seat it properly.

Be aware, it works, but at the price of your frustration.

It worked perfectly with the Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 802.11n Half Size Mini PCIe that it was intended to host.
It is flimsy and not intended to be used to test with but fully functional for a couple of installs.
I gave it 5 stars because it is exactly as advertised and the Price is I think a huge bargain.

I switched this card from an 8x slot to a 16x slot which is supposed to be supported by all devices and it worked fine except I smelled something like my CPU was running hot. Thinking something was just running fast, I didn't think about it until I checked the device manager and the wireless card was gone shortly after booting up just fine.

That is when I noticed the smoke coming from my PC. I immediately turned the power off and ripped the too-hot-to-touch card out of my computer and opened my windows and doors.

Lesson learned: Do not buy cheap computer parts from China.

The ONLY integrated circuit / transistor on the board has jets of black around it now.

I used this along with the Intel Ultimate N 633ANHMW mini pci card in my desktop pc and I get the same speeds as if I was directly connected via ethernet cable!!!

Used this with an Intel Ultimate N 633ANHMW IEEE 802.11n Wi-Fi Adapter and now have Great 2g and 5g WiFi in my desktop. To mount the card I had to remove the metal bracket from the green PCB (2 screws). Remove silver tin cover. Insert card at 45 degree angle and use 2 screws and nuts from hardware store to hold down the card. I used a dab of hot-glue to brace the card and secure the nuts. Install the antennas to the card. Install the tin shield. When pushing the metal bracket back into place, guide the antenna wires under the shield. Screw metal bracket bank into place and your done!

This adapter did not fit my case properly. The only way I could get it remotely close to "fitting" was to bend the part of the mount that the screw goes in out and then I could plug the mini-PCI component all the way into my motherboard, however, I could not securely fasten it to my case with the mount bent like that. On a positive note, the adapter worked perfectly when I was able to plug it all the way in. I would return this if I could but it is so cheap that it is not worth the time/effort/shipping fee to return it. Personally I cannot recommend this product. I'm only giving it two stars because it is possible that my issue may have been caused by my computer case or motherboard. I don't think this is likely since I've mounted many AGP/PCI/mini-PCI cards on my current motherboard/case and this is the first time I've encountered this problem... but it is possible (I guess). I should also add that it is very difficult to connect the wires to the wireless card and fit the metal cover back on. Other reviewers of this product reported this issue as well. I was really wishing this would work. It was soooo cheap that it may be worth the risk to some. If you do buy this product, best of luck to you.

it works but thats about all that it has going for it. the need for the shield is probably not there plus it feels wrong to use a flat head screw driver to get it off since that can mess up the leads and other components of the PCB... the wires and design makes it hard to attach the wires to wifi cards like what Im using it for, and even then for some reason the little u.FL connectors were pointing in different directions where I had to loosen the RP-SMA connectors from the bracket to twist them until the u.FL connectors pointed in the right direction.... and it would have been nice to have standoffs and screws for the adapter that are meant to secure mini-pcie cards, I myself ended up using a zip tie to secure the card with
