Great computer....bang for the buck

Great computer for the price of $129...I see in other reviews that the USB ports did not function. All four of mine in the front panel do operate as they should. As far as the WI-FI a couple reviews differed, with some people saying they had wifi and others did not..Mine did not have wifi recognition built in and what I mean by that is that once I plugged the power cord in the computer did not pick up on the wifi signal from my router. An easy fix here was an addition of Ethernet cable from my router which is my wifi source to the computer and I now have Wi-Fi. A second option for me rather than use an Ethernet cable would have been to use a USB Wi-Fi plugin to pick up the signal via the airwave. I have had the computer less than 24 hours but the one thing this computer does NOT have which I wish it did and just assumed it came with is slots for SD card types large and small like my other computers. I will still be able to transfer information, such as pictures from my cell phone and cameras to the computer, where I will just have to use a micro-USB cord attached to the phone or camera and plug into the USB port on the computer. This computer is pretty powerful plain Jane type. It's like a 427 cubic inch Chevy stripped down. Nothing really fancy but a workhorse. There are two plastic bank covers, one above and one below the CD drawer, which I'm sure over time I'll remove and make active with some option. The key board is not wireless but corded and just your basic key board, nothing fancy, but functional as expected. The mouse is also coded and not wireless, again basic, but with the nice feature of the roller wheel to scroll pages up or down. At this early stage of ownership, and operation and function experimentation everything seems okay. There is a learning curve involved. My old Dell computer is Windows 7 where this one is Windows 10. My Asus laptop is Windows 8 which I was never really fond of..I only gave this a four star rating because it does not have the various size SD card slots. If it did I would have punched in the 5 star rating for sure. I will update as I get into this new HP computer and it's operation. Otherwise I say that this computer, bang for the buck is pretty darn good.. I remember buying my first computer back in the early 1990 era which if I recall was a Dell or HP and it was of the old slow speed I think they called them the 8368or 886, not sure. On the monitor you could see the wavy lines constantly streaming down, cascading like a water fall and hypnotizing me. I basically bought this computer as my main computer for my E-Bay and other selling sites, being that it has great storage capabilities, it's fast etc. Time will tell Thanks.

I had an old monitor in the garage that plugged in and works perfect. I'm not paying more for a computer that looks pretty for futuristic (your kid doesn't need a Hello Kitty laptop). Pay for power, memory and harddrive, not the trendy gimmick of the week advertised by Best Buy and Walmart.

I work from home 3 days a week and needed a unit that can download and run Citrix. It has to load medical records and process requests quickly. THIS COMPUTER IS GREAT!

I just received yesterday and it was the best, I thought it would be laggy because.. well, low price pc = lag, but this is an exception. The only two problems I have found is that it doesn't support wifi and Bluetooth (which in this case is my mistake for not reading all the "description and details" section ... My bad) and the second issue is that the front USB ports for some reasons don't work, but NBD I can still use the ones on the back. After that this a good pc

I had never seen a PC power cord that short. :) I had plenty of them lying around though so that was not a problem for me. I received Windows 10 Professional that activated with no problems. i would have given it 5 stars, except the dvd was unplugged and there was some dust stuck in the vent holes. easy fixes. other than that it is an excellent value. big hard drive and plenty of ram. windows 10 fired right up ,didn't even have to register it. i don't game, so i don't know how it is for that but for a home computer you can't go wrong. if you haven't upgraded to windows 10 yet it's an easy way to do it.
