We do not allow our children/teens to have computers in their rooms - so we needed to have a good and contemporary PC for their home work and "social activities". This touch screen computer is quick, and so easy to setup. I have been a windows user since the the early 90's - ever since, I think version 3.1... Anyways, the negative hype about windows 8 is misguided in my opinion. My learning curve was about an hour - and that is primarily getting used to the way to find, switch to and close apps... The familiar "X" in the upper right corner is mostly missing - I honestly miss that more than the lack of the old start button. In summary, all love it and have adapted quickly - funny thing is that no one is using the touch screen - but rather still the mouse!

Pro: Clearly it is sleek and well built. I think Windows 8 is more intuitive to old windows users than most claim... And certainly more familiar than switching to a mac...

Con: I don't think it offers 3.0 USB... But on a positive: It has 6 usb ports.

Con2: I don't know why the price varies so much - I was going to buy another one, but the price went up $125 in only a couple weeks...

yes it has 3.0 USB ports - my oversight...

We ended up getting the "start" button back by buying Stardock's Start8 for 4.99... Annoying to have to buy - but worth it overall...

2nd - the hard drive (WD) failed after 2 months of use. Had to go through warranty to get a replacement. The service call took an hour - but the CS folks (from India) were very friendly. One day later, I received a new hard drive - I was very impressed, and all is good.

I've been looking for a compact PC for work from home odd jobs and this sleek, versatile and very stylish computer well exceeds any expectation I had before I made this purchase plus no loud obnoxious tower getting in the way, I love this computer and got myself a nice HP Photosmart printer for 30% off it was a win, win and a no-brainer

Stay as far away from the HP touchsmart series as humanly possible. If you crack the screen, you will never be able to find a replacement part. Even HP won't bother to help. For this reason, I'd give negative "stars" if I could. Why bother selling a PC that parts can't be found for? What good would a car be if the brakes needed changing but you had to throw the whole car away because you couldn't find the replacement brakes and even the manufacturer could help find the part?

I bought this computer on May 4, 2014. It immediately started dropping the WiFi connection. I kept fixing it until it was not something I could do. I contacted customer support and we fixed it. It was back to dropping WiFi withing 2 days. I worked with customer support again and fixed it. It was dropping WiFi by the end of the day. I finally decided I had to hardwire my computer in order to maintain a connection.

In my opinion I should not have to spend my time to make their product work. I purchased it with the belief they were selling a product that did what they said it did.

I cannot recommend this product.
