Product Description

Amazon.com

A 15-inch flat panel monitor from Hewlett Packard, the F50 is a high-quality TFT LCD monitor with plenty of features and a reasonable price tag. A maximum non-interlaced resolution of 1024 x 768 combines with a 0.297 mm dot pitch to provide clear, detailed pictures and crisp, sharp text. A 24-bit driver depth produces over 16 million colors, resulting in bright, true-to-life images suitable for a wide variety of home and home office needs.

The anti-glare screen treatment helps cut back on harmful reflections and the resulting eye-strain, while a 300:1 contrast ratio and 200 nits of brightness make the screen easy to see even in well lit environments. A 120-degree horizontal and 90-degree vertical viewing angle ensures that several people can view the screen at once, while a 5-degree down and 25-degree up tilt lets you ideally position the monitor to suit your needs.

The F50 connects to your computer via either a VGA analog or DVI digital connector, and is a "plug and play" monitor, ready to use right out of the box. With the onscreen controls, you can adjust a wide variety of monitor settings including brightness, contrast, H/V position, H/V size, color temperature, sharpness, and much more.

The F50 has a small 14.4-by-8.5-inch footprint and weighs just 10.6 pounds. TCO 99 and Energy Star compliant, the F50 is PC compatible only and comes backed with a one year limited warranty.

The HP F50 is without a doubt a wonderful monitor. We just purchased ours three days ago and I feel like I am in a brand new computer world. The clarity and sharpness of this monitor is unsurpassed. My husband has a vision defect, and this monitor is much easier for him to read. He is actually using our computer since this purchase! This is definate must for anyone searching for a new monitor. Well worth the money--exceptional value!

My experience with this monitor is quite different from the first posting. I purchased the HP Pavilion 743c about a week ago and it came bundled with the F50 LCD Monitor. The resolution and color are sharp and easy on my eyes. I am very happy with it. I have looked at other LCD monitors such as Gateway's current 17" and it is noticeably less sharp and I would call it smudgy.
Another quality of this monitor is its dual input capabilities of analog and digital (DVI).

I purchased this monitor at Micro Computer, Santa Clara California in October 2002 along with a Hewlett Packard computer. I did not purchase any additional warranty as the monitor came with a 1 year guarantee. At the time this monitor was priced at $649. In June of 2004 the monitor screen intermittently went blank for periods of 1 second to more then 1 hour. I tested the monitor on another computer and it exhibited the same problem. HP customer service had me bring it to a Radio Shack store that received moved it to the HP repair center. The monitor was returned 2 weeks later without repair. I was told by HP that flat screen LCD monitors are never repaired. So the net result is that the monitor lasted only 1-1/2 years. I complained to HP and they have offered me a $175 dollar credit towards a new monitor which will cost $379. My complaint is that the guarantee is much too short at 1 year on an expensive part that cannot be repaired. They need to offer a reasonable minimum life of 3 to 5 years.

Verified Purchase
I rated this particular-experience with this HP F50 LCD Monitor a 5 S. star because is exceeded my expectation of having purchased a used monitor. It did indicate on the description that the monitor containeI some scratches but was in perfect working order. Everything described pertaining to this product was accurate. I am extremely satisfied with the product and am currently using it in my place of business with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I chose the product because it was exactly like the one I had before that stopped working and the price was very reasonable.

I would reccommend this site and product to everyone!!

I've had this monitor since 2005 and it has never once failed me or lost any of its original spark and shine. It's been with me through 3 computers and it still works wonders. HOWEVER....keep in mind I'am not a hardcore gamer, connecting it to a new GPU / graphics card will require an adapter. It uses the old VGA style connector. I don't know how it'd preform with a GeForce 760 or beyond. For everyday use? It's perfect.

I went to Circuit City and bought this moniter along with the hp deskjet 3820 printer and the hp pavilion 752n tower. They all came as a set and I have to say I loved it. There was a reviewer who said that the text and pictures get blurry but trust me, they definitely do not do that on my computer. I really like flat screens and hp computers so this was a treat for me. It's a little pricey but absolutely worth every cent.
