The notebook is a good hard little worker; however, it tend to heat up fast and has even over-heated the battery to where the battery swelled up and does not fit in the notebook anymore. Now i can only use it if i have it plugged in. And without the battery i have to keep resetting the date and time or i wont be able to surf the internet. It gets annoying but I guess for the price i paid its doable.

This unit is almost perfect. It just occasionally locks up for no apparent reason. A reboot brings it right back online and it's back to business. It obviously won't be setting any speed records, but it does offer a tremendous balance of portability and battery life. This makes a great airplane companion if you need USB connectivity not found on most tablets. And for my purposes Windows XP was still a necessity.

Great for Ahem... "Security" Work with Kali Linux

I got the mini so that I could pentest networks that I own (and thus sometimes 0wn too) using Kali Linux in conjunction with my homebrew wifi pineapple router (which I need to do a build for the newest version, but I digress).

The mini is also compatible with windows and OSX (hackintosh), but why would you tarnish good hardware with an inferior OS? Toss Kali or another Linux distro on and you're good to go, from testing networks and messing with your friends to doing normal stuff most people use computers for these days (which don't require much horsepower).

Aside from security, this litle fella is great for travelling, as opposed to my Asus monster that weighs 9lbs and is huge. While I need to replace a failed hard drive from much loving use, I really love the laptop. Too bad HP doesn't make them anymore.
