-The screen resolution is great, the image is extremely bright and crisp.
-The keyboard feels great
-The computer is quiet
-The speakers are good for enjoying a movie, just don't expect high performance bose speakers that you can drown out a crowd with. Though, when using beats by dre headphones, the sound is amazing. Amazing.
- The simplepass feature is pretty cool. It allows you to use a fingerprint from each finger to launch various apps. For ex, my index finger can launch all my emails while my middle finger may launch various game. Sometimes, it takes a few tries for the reader to get my fingerprint, but overall its pretty impressive.
-I don't enjoy the physical size of the battery. The battery is not flush with the back of the computer, and causes the computer to be elevated about 3/4 inch. Just as expected though, the battery life is fantastic.
-The 3rd generation i5 processor with 8GB Ram is extremely fast.
-The touchpad is nice and big. You can use two fingers to scroll as well as zoom etc like you would on a smartphone.
So far, I love it. It is sleek, the brushed aluminum is quite beautiful, and it performs just as well, if not better, than I hoped.
750 GB of Memory has been great! I bring in several GBs of video and photos and the computerstill runs as fast as the day I bought it. Thanks to that 8GB RAM. I've yet to use 100% of my RAM, i've only gotten it to about 75-80% and I use big programs that eat RAM up like Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and some Autodesk programs for 3D modeling.
The wireless capabilities have served me well like on all computers.
The Stereo system! It uses beatsaudio, and I have little knowledge on them, but my Laptop can get louder than some car speaker systems. It gets quite loud, and I love it.
The only problem i've been having with this computer is when I go to watch movies or burn files to disc. When I put a movie in, I always get an error saying that it just won't play the movie. I've apparently not been the only one to get this problem, however I believe it occurred after installing an update to my computer. As when I first got my computer, I could watch movies at my leisure, then suddenly one week, I couldn't and ever since then, I can't. I don't like installing updates anymore. I think HP screwed me over with whatever update they sent me, but that's not the computer's fault.
Also, when I burn files to a disc, I can never seem to see them on another computer. I put the DVD back into my computer, and the files are still there and able to ripped from the DVD onto this HP computer.Read more ›
* Large, gorgeous screen that's perfect for photo editing and viewing, watching videos, etc.
* Attractive styling
* Plenty of USB ports
* Light enough to carry from the dining room table to the den, etc.
* Competitive price
* Slower than my four-year-old Lenovo laptop running Windows 7 even though it has twice the memory and a supposedly faster CPU (2.5 GHz vs. 2.4 GHz for the Lenovo).
* Glitchy keyboard. Sometimes I have to hit a key two or three times for it to take the input.
* Too heavy and large to carry around outside the home, unless you have a much larger than usual computer bag
I wavered between three and four stars, but went with four because I really do love the design and the large screen.
