last year. I have added a 1gb video graphic card and boosted the ram to 12 gb with the money I saved on buying it. I purchase a lot of items from Amazon other than just computer stuff; but the shipping has always been fast and I have gotten exactly what I ordered with no problems. I can watch high def. movies and tv on my 32" tv/monitor streamed from the internet which is better than my satellite hooked to 46" tv. This computer has opened up a lot of possibilities for me that my other desktops and laptop haven't; and now wondering if I even need the satellite monthly payments. Amazon thank you, keep doing what you are doing and I will be a customer for years to come.
update 2015: I have had this computer over 7yrs and it is still going strong. B
After only about 10 minutes on, the Window's splash screen started flickering, and I immediately knew something was wrong. I begin the start up procedures, and after entering up all my information, the screen flickers, and the computer completely freezes up, with the hard drive activity light stuck at a solid orange. I hard-reboot the computer, log back in, only for the computer's display to go out, and freeze once again. I'm at a loss. Keep in mind that this is only 20 minutes after opening this unit out of box. I did as many diagnostic checks I could think of, and opened the computer itself to re-seat the ram, and check all connections to no avail. After about 2 hours of tinkering with the machine, and even replacing the power supply inside of it to no effect, I shortly gave up, and will be sending the unit back shortly.
After much research, and digging up information, I found out this these type of problems are VERY common with HP, along with bad customer support, and a very small life of most of their machines. Please do NOT risk purchasing this machine. After reading some of the other reviews, this model seems to be littered with problems. Buyer beware.
