I bought this several months ago, and also bought "Smartbox Powerful Solar Generator" which is a 12V battery from which you can charge your phone and computer, and plug in things that use up to 100W, and recharge in many ways including plugging it into any outlet. I just could not figure out how to charge it from the solar panel. Then I discovered there is a simple cord that can be purchased for $8.50 that connects one to the other. I am thrilled! The solar panel is nice and light but also sturdy. I have to move it around chasing the sun and it's no problem to pick it and the battery up and move them wherever. On a sunny day the panel seems to charge the battery at about the same rate as plugging it into the wall (which is about 8 hours to go from 0 to full).
I now have two batteries and two HQST panels and two cords. And am very happy. I power lamps and charge my drill at camp this way.
You can see the panel in the photo. The battery is sitting on the woodpile behind it.
