But sadly, I bought THREE of them (initially two to swap out when one of the receiver's battery dies out. The third one was meant as a replacement, but now I only have ONE working one as of today. Two of the three receivers cannot turn on, and only shows a blinking green light upon trying to plug it in for a recharge. This is within the course of the year I have owned the three receivers.
HTC's customer support is atrocious. Insisting I contact with the vendor directly for a warranty (WHY CAN'T I GO THROUGH HTC?) There is no area on their website to at ease register a product and follow up for a warranty like say Logitech for example.
I had enough of HTC's antics. From not refining a very durable phone and ceasing support of it - of which I had to get the developer's preview to even continue my HTC 8X's use; to abstaining a dedicated camera button on an otherwise good phone (HTC M8 for Windows); and following the Apple trend (metal prettyness in lieu of durability sans bulky case - of which it doesn't matter once you use a damn phone case) and you have a shallow me-too company.
I have recommended this product in the past - initially. Now? No way. The reliability and customer support (I phoned twice and with the same redirection of you must contact the Amazon vendor bullshittery) makes me want to stay the heck away. Their direction on devices is dismal.
I will be looking for another receiver, since I am not sure how long my last HTC receiver would last. And all three were paired with that very same HTC 8X I am still currently using (updated with the Windows Phone developer's preview).

The device is only for streaming music
I haven't had a chance to check the battery life yet because I am just leaving it plugged in so it is always charging while the car is running. I installed an app on my phone called "Bluetooth connect and play" which automatically plays from a chosen media source as soon as the BT connection is made. This allows me to simply push the button on the adapter to turn on bluetooth and listen to music without ever removing my phone from my pocket.
Although overall I've been very pleased with this purchase, I can find three elements to nitpick which prevent me from giving it a 5 star rating. Least annoying to most:
Due to the simplistic design of the adapter, the charger plugs into the back of the device. Because I leave mine plugged in, and my aux in is below the radio face on the center stack, I always have a cord running to the center of my console, as well as the fact the the rear charger placement ends up adding a couple inches further sticking out once plugged in. Aside from cosmetic concerns, I'm a bit worried that over a long period of time, the extra weight of the charger being plugged in on the back of the adapter could damage the aux in port on my car. In my case, an aux plug set to a 90 degree angle to the rest of the device would be nice.
Second, the red and green LED indicator is unnecessarily complex. I think this is a case of the device trying to be too helpful... fast green blinking = pairing mode, three blink bursts = on... beyond that I don't care what its trying to tell me with alternating fast red and green blinks, or solid red light (maybe that means charged). Granted I could look this up in the little piece of paper that came with it, but I threw that s*** away as soon as I opened the package.
Finally, the one truly annoying aspect of this charger is the on/off button. A simple push will not turn the device on; you need to hold the button down for about 1.5 sec to turn power on. Hold the button for 2 sec and you will put it into pairing mode, which necessitates holding the button again to turn it off and trying again. Because of this, it takes some time to get it right. This seems like something that could be very easily avoided. Despite this very first world problem, pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.
