Overall, I'm very impressed with this case. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros
1. The back feels like a hard plastic. I was expecting something like a TPU case where it's kind of rubbery and bendy and that's not really what I wanted. This is a hard backed case.
2. The rubber around the front works really well once the phone is in there. Consequently, it's a real pain getting the phone in there, but I know my phone will not be falling out of this case.
3. The TV Remote, infrared sensor problem has been fixed. The power button (doubles as the infrared sensor) is now cut out of the case, so there is no obstruction for using it as a TV Remote. This actually prevented me from ordering it before and I'm glad I waited til now!
4. Most cases that have the volume rocker covered makes the volume keys hard to press. This case has no such problem. Volume keys are easy to press.
5. While I'm at it, the charge port, power button, volume rockers, and 3.5mm headphone jack are all easy to get to and are unobstructed.
6. The case looks awesome. The gray rubber accents mesh well with the titanium gray color of the phone itself. The back is frosted clear (as others have mentioned), but if you have the white (really, it's gray) HTC One, you literally can't tell the difference. The only way you even know it's frosted is because the white lines, the red beats audio logo and the silver HTC logo are a little fuzzier than normal.
Cons
1. Make sure there is no hair, dust, or any other noticeable debris in the case. Once you get it on, it's a real pain to get it off again. I had to do this for a dog hair that made it's way into the case before I could put it on. My thumbs hurt from prying it off then putting it back on.
2. The 4 "bumper dots" on the back (those 4 gray rubber arms that reach out from the corners on the back in the pictures) do absolutely nothing. The one in the top right is actually an opening for the sound reduction mic (because it's not a speaker) and I believe the other 3 were added for symmetry. They don't actually do anything and I was kind of hoping they would.
3. The SIM card slot is entirely covered up. So at some point I'll have to remove this case to switch SIMs or one day when I want to sell it. It's not a big deal, but a covered port is a covered port so it's a con.
Overall, the pros outweigh the cons and I have no doubt I will be enjoying this case until they day I sell the phone. I did not experience the "sharp edges" that many people have complained about. It may be a manufacturer defect kind of thing, but I squeezed my phone while in the case and felt nothing biting into my fingers and no rough edges. So maybe it's a problem they've fixed? Or maybe those people had defects or something. Not saying it didn't happen, just saying it didn't happen to me.
If you want something sleek and functional, this is a good case to go with. Obviously, the thinness of the case prevents it from protecting the phone from heavy duty damage (you can't run it over with a car, for instance), but if you're looking for something heavy duty, you're looking for something like an Otterbox or another multi-layered case and not one of these cases.
Thanks for reading!
it. I need a phone case that will protect the phone from day to day use, not from an Iraqi firefight. This case looks fantastic! I bought the Silver HTC phone so I went with the Clear/Grey color. It fits the phone like a glove, streamlined to the edges. I put my nail to the back and scratched down the length of the clear backing. Not a mark or indentation. The openings on the case for the USB,headphone, camera slots are either recessed or elevated to the degree that they allow easy access, ease of use, and of course, protection. The aluminum case is handsomely showcased with the clear backing. This phone has Gorilla Glass, plenty of protection from anything except the most hardcore abuse. I don't like those screen protectors, anyways. The case allows a lip of hardened rubber encircling the front edging of the phone. This allows the glass to never touch the surface where you lay it down. Awesome!
pros: protects my phone, plastic/rubber makes it an easy grip, good openings to buttons and connectors, and a solid construction of the case, and slim enough to not make my awesome phone bulky and not make it heavier than needed.
cons: not as solid of a case as would hope so to protect a $600 brand new phone in from a 5 foot drop, maybe good for possible nicks and scuffs im not sure about anything else, also the design of it is maybe just not my style, i am generally not someone to care about style or looks, but this one just doesnt feel like it goes with the htc one! maybe i like this phone too much to have this case kill its looks. the case itself is nice, just cant put a finger on why it just doesnt go.
i still have this case on my phone to get my moneys worth, but i say at my first chance to change it out for a better designed case and a sturdier case, i will switch it out.
My main gripes are as follows:
1. Case starts falling apart in a few weeks. The rubber on mine after about a month and a half is almost entirely detached from the plastic body.
2. Extremely rigid. The stiff plastic body makes putting the case on and taking it back off more of a hassle than one would ever want. Probably influenced the first issue to a large degree.
3. Minimal protection. The thin, stiff body means that you're essentially only getting scratch protection for the sides and back of the case. Fall protection is minimal.
Bottom line: would not recommend. The case looks nice and the transparent body lets the phone look pretty faithful to how it would appear case-less, but as far as getting protection goes, try something else - in particular I found that the i-Blason cases (available for a similar price on Amazon) were much better and offer Otterbox or near-Otterbox level protection without being expensive and bulky.
Note: They do offer a three year manufacturer's warranty, but the case just isn't good quality to begin with.

Aware of the issue reference the IR blaster being covered, but received a letter with mine saying that the updated version would be dispatched to me FOC in a few weeks. Don't really use the IR feature that often anyway.
Only minor negative is that it's a bit fiddly to get the phone out of the case, but I guess that is the price you pay for a nice tight fit.
Word of advice though, avoid the white case as I have seen others where the white dirties. The grey is a safe and attractive choice.
The case itself is beautiful. It looks good, fits the phone VERY tightly so it wont fall off if you dropped it (taking it off makes you think that you are going to damage it - but you wont) and has the IR blaster cutout. The sides on the front lift it off the desk so you are less likely to damage your screen too.The volume buttons are very responsive and you have clear access to all ports.
Bad bits - Although looking pretty, upon close inspection, the case, or certainly the rubber rim around it, is very poorly finished. As other have reported, there are glue 'hairs' where the rubber meets the plastic and I had to trim these off carefully using a small pair of scissors. At the corners, the rubber rim also looks as if it has some stress or it has been 'used'. Again, this is only really noticeable when you look at it close up.
For what is really a beautiful cover, the finish on mine really lets it down. The marks may be small but I know that they are there.
If I somehow break this one or get bored of it, I think I will revert to my original first choice case should it become available - the Incipio Dual Pro.
love the show case of the back, looks clear and protect the phone real clear〜
