The HTC ONE e8 has almost the same specs as the HTC ONE m8. It has the same Snapdragon 801 CPU (although the clock speeds are different), the same 2GB of RAM, the same 5' 1080p display, the same HTC boom sound speakers, and comes with Sense 6 like the M8. Where these 2 devices differ is in the camera and material used for construction.

The HTC ONE m8 uses a 4MP (Ultra Pixel) camera on the rear with dual camera focus for depth, and the HTC ONE e8 uses a 13MP shooter. I'm not 100% sure which is better, but I can say the e8 takes fairly good pictures. With the construction of the m8 HTC used an all metal construction where the e8 is a plastic polycarbonate. Some prefer the 'premium' metal construction but personally I love the soft touch plastic back.

The e8 is a very high end device for the time - Currently 2015. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and according to HTC's site will be upgraded to 5.0 Lollipop in the coming months. Don't be fooled though this device runs like a champ. It's fast powerful and can handle anything you throw at it. The phone supports up to a 128GB microSD card and Sprint Spark 4gLTE. In my area with Spark I receive about 15MB/s down 4MB/s up on average with this device. The battery is a 2600mAh unit and will easily last you a full day with moderate to heavy use; over a day with light use. I believe with future software enhancements this will improve. The BOOM sound speakers are well... Amazing, I'm not going to gush here to much as I'm sure if you're looking at an HTC device you know something about them. Let's just say they are front facing, have great tone, and can get LOUD. Call quality is great, I haven't dropped any more calls than usual and this is mainly to blame on Sprint's service in some parts of my area.

I thought I really liked this phone! However, within a very few weeks of purchase the front-facing camera, lumen sensor, proximity sensor, and flash LED all failed. This was confirmed by HTC's diagnostic app as well as a third-party hardware diagnostic app. Neither a factory reset nor upgrading to the latest firmware made a difference-- in fact, the new firmware caused HTC's rear facing camera app to stop working too although the hardware for it is still functional. The phone has not been dropped or otherwise badly handled, and it has had a protective case on it since the day I got it.

Additionally, I randomly get messages saying that LTE is unavailable because there's no SIM inserted, though the SIM has definitely not been removed. These sometimes go away on their own and sometimes require a reboot.

Dealing with HTC's online support didn't make me feel any better about the purchase. The only warranty repair option involves sending the phone to them and being without it for 7-10 days. While I was typing a message asking of there were any options for expediting this process the agent disconnected from the conversation, leaving me to start the process from scratch.

I would definitely not recommend purchasing this or any other HTC device. In fact, I am sorely tempted to throw this new $500 phone into the trash and replace it with something else.

This phone fails in every way imaginable. The ease of use is none existant. It takes forever just to do the simplest task. (I have the polar white version)

I won this phone from Sprints holiday give away. I received it three weeks before it even hit Sprint stores. (Still found nowhere else to the day of this posting) Finding accessories for this phone is pretty much impossible. And there is no way I'm gonna pay Sprint 40 for a case you can get for 10 online. I had a review already saved on this phone. Apparently the update erased it. It took me several attempts to post a review, using the very phone I'm writing the review about. Internet crashed 9 times.

The keyboard is atrocious. Spend more time correcting errors than I ever have on any other phone. My previous SIII has more features and is more user friendly than this phone. Made my first phone call today. My gf said I sounded like I was under water. hd voice my behind. There are no user settings for phone calls. No setting for noise cancellation, ear piece is kind of low, even at maximum volume. You can barely hear the person you are calling. Yet these speakers are loud when playing music.

The music player has no equalizer settings at all. Only option is to turn off ' boom sound' while headphones are in use. Nothing else.

No flashlight app/widget pre installed. Almost every other phone equipped with flash has that feature.

No features such as smart stay, or smart scroll. No dual screen option either. My 2 yr old SIII had all of that. Plus 4.4.4 kit Kat. This one even with the update, has 4.4.2 nothing of use added.

The camera isn't all that great. The gallery layout is lame too. Can't even zoom in on pictures.
